Did you know that research pre-pandemic showed that the average person only did 3 hours of "real work" per day? That's why I love experiments like the 4-day work week. In tech, it's common to A/B test features before launching publicly. The same mentality can be applied to HR. Sure, you can say that firms who signed up for the 4-day week trial were predisposed to the benefits of a shorter work week. But isn't that a good thing? In a world where time is scarce, time off can be just as much a reward as a pay increase. It's time to start rethinking the 9-5 grind.
