We have some exciting updates to share with everyone coming up to Easter, so please read ahead.

Please welcome our new Acting Manager!

We are pleased to introduce our new Acting Manager for the Home, Maria Williams!

Many of you have already met or have spoken with Maria. She has been with us since 2019 as our Clinical Lead and will be taking over the role from our previous manager, Jane.

Maria is looking forward to speaking with you all in the near future and we all wish her the best of luck in her new role.

We would also like to thank Jane for all of her hard work here and we wish her the best for her future endeavours.

2nd Vaccination Date Confirmed

We have received confirmation that we will receive the second Covid-19 vaccination on Tuesday 30th March. If all goes well, all of our Residents and staff who received the first vaccine will receive the second dose.

We will not require consent forms to be filled in again, as they will use the consent forms filled in for the first jab.

This is excellent news for our Home, as the second vaccine will enable us to re-open the Home for physical visits very soon (more on this below).

Physical Visits

If everything goes well, we will be able to reopen our doors to you all on the 21st of April! However, this can only happen if we receive the second dose on time and if we are not in an outbreak within the Home. If either of the two occur, we will have to postpone the reopening. If this is to happen, a new reopening date will be shared on our website.

We would like to thank everyone that took part in the survey sent out in the last Newsletter, we really do appreciate your input in this decision. We used the results from this survey, as well as the advice given to us from our Local Authority and Infection Control to make our final decision.

We want these visits to be as safe as possible for our Residents, visitors and staff members. From what we have seen, we are not confident that one vaccine provides enough protection for our Residents to resume physical visits. Their safety is our first priority.

We are not the only Home in the area to make this decision. Infection Control have informed us that many Homes have made the same decision.

We will launch the booking system two weeks before we can resume visits. Our website will be updated with details when this happens and will include our visitation policy and instructions for physical visits.

Easter Raffle

As Easter is fast approaching, we would like to inform you about our Easter Raffle! Up for grabs this year is a £20 meat voucher from our meat supplier H. Greaves and quite a few Easter Eggs for the lucky winners.

If you would like to buy a raffle ticket, please come to our Reception and we will be able to sell you a ticket.

The (lucky) winners will be contacted after the draw on Thursday 1st April.

If anyone is interested in donating Easter Eggs, please get in touch with us. We always appreciate these donations.

New Food Supplier Coming Soon!

We would like to let everyone know that we will soon be moving to a new food supplier. We are please to inform you that we will start being supplied by Apetito in the coming months, an outside catering company that specialises in providing care home meals.

Apetito came to the Home for a tasting session at the end of January and we were extremely impressed with the quality of the food. After this session, we spoke with other homes in the area that use Apetito. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive!

By moving to Apetito, we will be able to further cater for all of our Resident's individual needs, including specialised diets, portions and nutritional needs. As well as all of this, their food is delicious! We are hoping to invite you all to try the food for yourselves when we are able to welcome you back.
