The Coronavirus Pandemic: Are we ready for the long haul? There is a lot that is unknown about SARS-COV-2, but the world’s leading epidemiologists believe that its spread will be a long-drawn process. It will take at least 18 months for a vaccine to become available, and even after that, scaling up vaccine production to cover the entire world population will take a long time. Until then, or until a sufficient number of people become immune to the virus, we may see multiple outbreaks of the disease, leading to spikes in infections and mortality. Read more... |

TATA Crucible Campus Quiz Ashoka University hosted its fourth Tata Crucible event earlier in March with 65 teams participating this year which included extensive participation from several colleges across Haryana. Our students, Rohan Nagpal and Yashaswi Raghuveer, both from the MA Economics Class of 2020, won the Sonipat regional this year while Kanishk Mukherjee and Shigraf Haque, both from Undergraduate Class of 2021, emerged as the runners-up at the competition. One of the most prestigious and undoubtedly toughest in the domain of quizzing, the winners will now proceed to the zonal round to compete with the winners from across northern India. |

24 hours of entrepreneurial energy was abuzz at the Startup Ashoka event! Over 150 students participating, 50 idea pitches and 16 startup teams were selected and mentored by startup gurus and industry leaders. Second runner-up, U-We Clean pitched a unique product, a laundry bag that helps you reduce the number of times you have to wash your clothes using ultraviolet (UV) lights. First runner-up Secure pitched a solution to encode any information by providing a layer of security. And finally, the winning team, Photo-Bio Generator pitched a solution to combat air pollution. |
