You Can't Spell Earth Without Heart Moving into winter, EAC had a strong start to caring for the earth at our Gathering of Friends and Supporters on January 29th. Over 50 EAC supporters met together at Frog Level Brewery to hear about 2024 activities, as well as highlights from the 2023 survey results, and participate in break out sessions on renewable energy, native habitat, outdoor adventure, plastic reduction, and others. We had a good time getting together, and sharing ideas and concerns about our world and our community. Most overheard: "This was great! Let's do this again soon." |

Action Alert: The EXPLORE Act |
The EXPLORE Act Part of the mission of the EAC states, "Create opportunities to experience the outdoors..." The Explore Act, HR 6492 aligns with our mission by promoting equity and expanding access to the outdoors for all. Highlights of the EXPLORE Act More children will be able to connect with nature through the extension of the Every Kid Outdoors program. Includes pieces from the Military Veterans in Parks Act and Get Rewarding Outdoor Work for our Veterans Act, promoting opportunities and outdoor recreation experiences for veterans and active duty members. The Outdoors for All Act would provide funding for outdoor recreation sites in economically disadvantaged communities. The Simplifying Outdoor Access for Recreation Act would simplify and streamline permitting processes for guides, outfitters, outdoor leaders, and nonprofit organizations.
It's a rare occasion for Congress to pass legislation with broad support. CLICK BELOW TO TAKE ACTION |
