What a busy week, Round-Up Readers! My mind was blown on Sunday by all the great conversations at Thinkers50, a biennial conference and awards ceremony which draws nearly 600 academics, executives, and business coaches––many of whom are also best-selling authors! It was like two days back at college! Two articles from this so far: Monday was a mix of Thinkers50 and World Travel Market (WTM) (thank you "Lizzie line" for making easy to get back and forth!). WTM was teeming with people––some 40,000––if you needed MORE evidence travel is back, well, there you go. There were two insightful sessions under the umbrella "Empowering Women to Change Travel," which you can read by clicking! Hit WTM again on Tuesday to see Shaon Talukder, CEO of Geotourist, speaking on a panel about trends in travel tech. Shaon is also my "male ally" through Women in Travel CIC, and is coaching me on how to scale hertelier. Was so happy to support and cheer him on, for a change! Usually, I post the hertelier stories towards the end of the email, but Nancy's column on Barbra Streisand is so good, I don't want anyone to miss it! Click here now!! Also, new contributor Lauren Doughty, wrote about the hidden struggles Black women face with haircare in hospitality, and it was also the AAHOA HerOwnership conference. Yeah, hertelier is throwing some 🔥 content!! So, when I say BUSY WEEK, you feel me? Happy Diwali if you are celebrating! And, to our veterans, thank you for your service! Travel tips?? We are heading to Costa Rica for the first time over the holidays, flying into San Jose. If you have suggestions for me (traveling with teens) just reply to this email! Now, on to the rest of the news.... |

Travel & Hospitality: Invest in physical well-being. Women’s bodily safety, physical needs, overall wellbeing, and personal autonomy should be paramount. Facilities and policies must be designed or refreshed to accommodate women. Adopt employee-centered scheduling practices. Companies must remove sources of instability, unpredictability, and rigidity from scheduling systems to account for women’s lives outside work. Create and clarify growth opportunities.
