REDC has long recognized housing affordability and availability as key elements to economic growth in the region, which is why we would like to share this free upcoming event by our partner, the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast. Small Solutions to the Housing Crisis: Tiny Houses in New Hampshire is a free webinar on Thursday, June 24th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. With family sizes shrinking and the proportion of one-person households growing, New Hampshire is looking toward smaller solutions to the state’s housing crisis: accessory dwelling units, pocket neighborhoods, and, of course, tiny houses. Small homes are more affordable, make use of existing land, can be grouped together on one parcel harmoniously, and fit into even the most rural seacoast communities. In this webinar, attendees will hear from three tiny house enthusiasts. Caroline Corriveau, AAIA is an architect with Warrenstreet Architects who lives in a tiny home she built herself. Steven Paquin is the Code Official for the Town of Wolfeboro and Vice President of the NH Building Officials Association. Steven has worked with legislators in the NH House to craft legislation related to tiny houses and building codes. Finally, Don Powers the Founder and President of Union Studio will share his decades of experience designing diverse and vibrant communities. This conversation will be moderated by James Vayo, Project Manager at the Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission. Register today for this free webinar: |

The 2021 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) planning cycle is coming to a close. REDC will be holding a CEDS Steering Committee meeting on June 16, 2021, to review and finalize the 2021 CEDS Update plan. This year's CEDS is the first annual update to the 2020 CEDS, which was published last June. During the 2021 CEDS planning cycle, the REDC staff, its consultants, and the Steering Committee worked to provide up-to-date demographics, information on regionally significant programs and projects, contact information on training and job development, and address other regionally significant issues that impact the CEDS member communities, businesses, and citizens. The 2021 CEDS Update will be finalized and submitted to the U.S. Economic Development Administration by June 30, 2021, and will be available on the REDC website in July. For more information regarding the CEDS process, please contact Jen Kimball at jennifer@redc.com. |

The Regional Economic Development Center works in partnership with local lenders, or independently, to help borrowers secure the funding needed to complete projects leading to job creation. REDC has a variety of loan programs, and part of what we do is work closely with entrepreneurs to find the right fit for them, helping them obtain capital to start or grow their small businesses. If you know of a small business in NH in need of assistance, or someone interested in starting a new business, please share REDC with them! |
