Student of the Month (Decade)
Mason Maiocco
Norwalk School of Music Student for 10 Years!!!
Mason began private lessons when he was 4 years-old. He's now a freshman at Trumbull High School. Time flies! Over the years he's racked up almost too many accolades to list. Mason plays in school ensembles, all-city groups, School of Rock, and recently enrolled in Trumbull's prestigious Regional Center for the Arts program. Congratulation Mason. Keep up the amazing work.

Time to start preparing your holiday song for upcoming video shoots. It will take a few weeks to learn a new tune, schedule your video shoot, have extra time to reshoot (if needed), then send to friends and family before the holidays. These videos always make the perfectholidaygreetingcard. Let's pick a song and start working right away!

Words of Wisdom
YouTube = Practice Tool & Motivator
YouTube can be a great tool to keep you or your child motivated. There are literally millions of videos featuring your instrument that will get anyone fired up to play. Simply type your instrument in the search bar to start watching performances. See how-to videos for a new lick, song tutorials, or practice tips. YouTube will remember what you watch and suggest similar videos each time you visit. Make a playlist so you can come back to them later. Subscribe to the channels you enjoy the most. I use YouTube during lessons almost daily as a teaching tool and motivator. I also encourage all my students to share what they watch on their own. Parents, make watching a video related to your child's instrument a regular weekly activity.
Next Month, we'll build on this YouTube tip and reveal another awesome way to use the app.
Monthly Reminders
Remember to login and use the calendar for canceling and rescheduling lessons. There's no need to add the extra step of contacting me. Find the date on the calendar and click "Cancel Lesson" as early as possible. Likewise, search the calendar if you have a credit and need to reschedule. Available times will be posted in purple as "Open". If you don't see any, it simply means there currently aren't any. Check back daily. You never know when someone will cancel and their time will become available.
