Hello, Excitingly, this is my second e-newsletter of the year. How time flies!? Can't believe it's the end of February already. As I've mentioned before, this email, is my way of keeping in touch, without you having to scroll through the Metaverse. I want to share highlights, share my artistic journey, and make space to acknowledge and applaud those I encounter along the way. I invite you to grab a biscuit or two, make yourself a cuppa (or indulge in some hot chocolate; yes it's still raining!) and take a look. You might discover overlapping opportunities, learn something new or, depending on age and wisdom, find my news nostalgic. Either way, it would be delightful to share, support, and stay connected. |

I can't do everything on my own. I might need some help. Why? Because I have plans, and I really want to try them out. This month, I posted a job advertisement for a Creative Assistant — someone with whom I could bounce ideas off, who could assist with scheduling, and who could set aside time every week to explore opportunities that can fuel my ideas (and nourish my soul, so it's not a big ask!). As a freelancer, I thrive on the energy I derive from one project to the next. I am constantly evolving. Therefore, it is important to find time to pause, reflect, and be strategic in how you move forward. This way, you can avoid burnout and create a vision for yourself that is clear, manageable, and joyful. Having someone to do this with once a week will be an exciting adventure. |

I've delved into the concepts of body literacy, artistic emotional athleticism, and skilful practice. Working at Chisenhale Dance Space in London alongside 25 other professional artists has been an absolute joy. Chris Evans has been a fount of knowledge and expertise, extremely well-versed in terminology, helping to identify methods or experiences that aid artists in their growth. The INFUSE Programme is a part of Babel Theatre. Its aim is to support mid-career and established artists, which can be rare as there is often a focus on emerging or early-career artists. Bringing Chris on board, who collaborates with renowned groups such as Hofesh Schecter, Lost Dog, and Gecko Theatre, presents a wonderful professional development opportunity. I am eager to bring back all that I have learned from this amazing week to Devon. Chris has empowered me to define my process and has provided me with a vocabulary that precisely captures the methods I hold dear. I am passionate about helping actors and performers strengthen their resilience when it comes to physicality, and I will be integrating these approaches into the training I deliver regarding artistic health. |

Sometimes it's good to look back and see how far you have come. Particularly as an artist. In periods of downtime, when it may feel like the absence of work looms larger than it truly is, you find yourself swiftly moving from one project to the next or juggling multiple responsibilities. Bitter Ditty, created over 11 years ago, still evokes fond memories for me. Take a moment to look back and rediscover the gems that continue to inspire and motivate you. |
