As human beings, we go through a lot. When you experience any type of loss or negativity, oftentimes there is an expectation to bounce back right away or feel better instantly. The feeling that your world has stopped but the actual world around you doesn’t. The best thing you can do is remind yourself "it’s okay not to be okay.”
It’s important to be aware of your emotions and realize that if you are not feeling great, you don’t have to act like you are. You are allowed to feel want you need to feel. You are SUPPOSED to feel what you need to feel. It’s part of the healing journey.
Give yourself grace for the days you can’t show up. You can tell yourself it’s okay, instead of beating yourself up for not being able to. Admitting to yourself that you are not okay is the first step in moving forward.
If you notice yourself starting to feel negative emotions, you don't have to push your emotions down or bottle them up. Just remember to tell yourself “it’s okay not to be okay." Don't be afraid to feel your emotions. If you are able to sit with your emotions and process through them, you will become stronger and more resilient.
