Street Improvement Projects, Kings Gate Road

Update: 01 June 2023. "Crews will begin work today on the intersection of Meadow Place and Kingsgate Road as part of the 2022 Street Improvement Project. If you are a pedestrian crossing Kingsgate to reach the park or some other nearby area, please do not cross through the work zone.

Street Improvement Projects, Comprehensive

Summary: During the 14 September 2021 Council Meeting, the council approved Willow Park's Comprehensive Street Improvement Plan and funding options. The Comprehensive plan was the beginning of the implementation phase of years of studying and planning to improve and update the infrastructure of Willow Park.

Happy Trails to You, Willow Park Trails Master Plan Update

Summary: By this time next year the city will have "something awesome" at Willow Park's Kings Gate Park. The first improvement will be establishing Kings Gate Park as the trail head for new mountain bike trails...

Kings Gate Park, WP's New Ready-made Playground and Trails

Summary: The city is planning to make Kings Gate Park Willow Park's second major city park. The city is negotiating to accelerate its Wilks TIRZ agreement to assume control of the Willow Park North playground, the cement walking trails, and the green space around them, all considered Kings Gate Park.

Memorial Day: Willow Park's Pfc. Paul Balint Jr.

Summary: Remembering Willow Park residents who died in service. Pfc. Paul Balint Jr. of Willow Park was 22 when he died in service to his country; he was killed 15 December 2006 by small-arms fire in Ramadi, Iraq. He died of injuries sustained when his unit came in contact with the enemy during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Memorial Day: Willow Park resident honors a brother who died in service.

Summary: Willow Park resident Shivaun Palmer honors her youngest brother, Special Ops Air Force Pararescue Kevin McKenna, who died in service to his country. The people you can never forget, you want others to remember, so the McKenna family, who moved to Willow Park in the 1980s, placed their reminder in the ​Willow Park's Pfc.
