Happy Friday Friends!!!

Happy Newsletter Friday! Welcome to those of you who are reading this for the first time and welcome back to those returning!

THE POLL RESULTS:

This past poll was a contentious one, kinda... People voted all different ways but, I found that one subset of y'all are the most passionate about this. Now, was it the pancake people, the waffle people, or the french toast people? Well, it is time to find out! Drumroll please!!!

It appears to be that WAFFLES are the winner!

If you don't know, you all were given the chance to explain why the answer you chose was best. 7 out 8 of the people who explained why their breakfast option was the best were waffle people (you waffle folk love your waffles). Here are some of the reasons why waffles are the best:

  • "Breakfast foods are simply a vehicle for Vermont maple syrup and waffles are ideally suited for this purpose." - Brian (OH)

  • "Waffles have syrup traps. More sugar = happier helen." - Helen (NY)

  • "As Leslie Knope said, 'We need to remember what’s important in life. Friends, waffles, and work. Or waffles, friends, work. It doesn’t matter. But work is third.'  (also waffles have POCKETS for SYRUP)" - Marcie (UK)

  • "Buttermilk Chicken Waffles with Maple Syrup - can I say more?? (vege chick'n for Alex)" - Todd (NZ)

  • "Waffles give you a nice crunch and perfectly hold your syrup or other toppings. Pancakes and french toast just get soggy after a short time and it feels like I'm eating wet bread. WAFFLES PLEASE, NEXT!" -Gib (OH)

  • "Waffles with Strawberries can't be beat" - Howie (NJ)

  • "Fresh made waffle with fruit on top is the best. The pancake is a poor cousin and french toast but can be heavy." - Amy (NJ)

It is clear waffles are the winner from the passionate responses from our waffle eaters. Let's go waffles!!

IN THE HEADLINES:

Are you tired of all the constant headlines popping up on your phones? Does the news sometimes ruin the day? Here is a place where you can find uplifting, fun, and good news from people in our own community. Keep looking to your own life headlines for a smile!

Featured Headlines:

  • "I saw Springsteen on Broadway with my son, Alex!"
    • Amy - NJ

OTHER NEWS:

Theatre is slowly but surely coming back! This past week I opened Stomp! at the Orpheum Theatre! I am currently the Assistant Stage Manager and it has been a wild ride to bring this show back to Off-Broadway. If you want to check out our performance on Good Morning America, click here. I have realized how much I missed creating an environment for other people to experience the same thing. It has become another reminder of the importance of community and how everything we do and every interaction we have can change someone's day. From going to the laundromat to the grocery store to seeing a show, remember the impact you can have.

On a more serious note, the Delta Variant of COVID is out there. Please be safe and healthy. If you aren't vaccinated, get vaccinated! It will only help you and help others. It is still a scary moment but, we will and have persevered so far. Like Glennon Doyle says, "We can do hard things." Let's keep putting in the work and make sure we can take care of everyone around us.

Thank you for reading this and if this brought a smile to your day, feel free to forward it on and spread the cheer! Don't forget the impact a little kindness can have. It can create lots of change!

'Til next time,

...alex is out

The Newsletter Poll!

Wow, the waffle people really won this one! But a clear winner on the next poll might be a little tougher. This next poll is brought to you by Amy (NJ). In honor of theatre slowly returning, what is your favorite longest running broadway show? I never said this would be easy....
