One of my favorite hymns is called, "Hymn of Promise." One of the verses goes like this, "There’s a song in every silence, seeking word and melody; There’s a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me. From the past will come the future; what it holds, a mystery, Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see." I often turn to it when I am waiting on God and His promises - that seem to take a long time to show up. Right? But God's timing is the right timing - thankfully. How many times have I thought God was delayed or late? Only to find out after, that His timing was the best. The lyrics also remind us that God is working even when we can't see it. Learning to trust this, to trust Him, offers such peace and patience. My dear brothers and sisters, when we find ourselves in difficult and waiting seasons - please be encouraged - "there's a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me." Amen. |

***CONGREGATIONAL MEETING THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH FOLLOWING WORSHIP*** The FRC Consistory continues to effectively serve the church. The new roof project was completed and paid for at a cost of $24,500. The new roof should give 25-30 years of solid protection. Special thanks to Deacons John Casbar and Herb Larsen. In addition, the Worship Committee and the Consistory have approved the hiring of a new Worship Leader/Music Director. The process of seeking candidates, interviews and meeting with the choir went very well. To God be the Glory! The new leader will be announced and introduced this Sunday at the Congregational Meeting. Finally, the Consistory has nominated two candidates for Elder - they will be announced at the Congregational Meeting. |
