Indiana Youth Institute Grant Award |
We are so excited to announce that we were 1 of 84 youth-serving organizations in Indiana to receive a $10,000 grant to improve our staff room from Indiana Youth Institute. We are working to make it a more trauma-informed space for our amazing youth workers that work around the clock to take care of our kid's needs. Thank you to Indiana Youth Institute for their support! |

Community Foundation of Southern Indiana Grant Award |
We are more than happy to announce that we received a $25,000 grant to begin the process of digitizing our records at Open Door. For that past 40 years, we've relied on a paper-based reporting method that took valuable time away from our youth. With this new, custom-built system, we are able to digitally track our youth's data easily, and fill out necessary forms and charts, while also engaging more with our youth. Thank you to the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana! |

We are so excited to announce that we were awarded $8,125 to purchase some much-needed equipment and storage for our heavily used kitchen! These funds will go towards purchasing new kitchen tables for our kids to eat at, shelving units to increase our food storage capacity, and new countertop appliances for preparing meals! Thank you so much to the Caesars Foundation for funding this project! |

With a referral by the Indiana Department of Child Services or Juvenile Probation, children and families can receive various types of psychological testing. This testing can help to determine the right intervention for children as soon as possible, keeping them from being shuffled around between various programs. Dr. Tony Sheppard is a Certified Group Psychotherapist and has provided statewide training to direct care staff in youth self-harm and youth suicidality. He can provide: Screens for mental health diagnoses and personality traits that might contribute to problems. IQ testing that provides insight into the client's cognitive functioning level. Administration of clinical and parenting measures to determine parenting abilities. Trauma scales that assist in determining the potential impacts of past or suspected trauma.
