Members' Updates

Jane Mercer

Indigo Experiments

This year member Jane Mercer has been growing indigo for the first time in her dye garden. The seeds, growing instructions and dyeing techniques were obtained from the Elisabeth Culshaw website. Jane took part in an experiment to grow Indigo in the North of UK. Her plants grew well and she has used some of her indigo harvest to dye silk and wool using the ice method. This was a quick and easy method and the results are perfect preparation for next years projects.
