TRIP OF A LIFETIME!

Athletes For Israel (AFI) just concluded its second College Basketball Summer Tour in Israel and Abu Dhabi. It was a transformative journey for over 30 athletes from the men's basketball teams of Kansas State and the University of Arizona Wildcats, alongside their coaching staffs.

Many of the players had never stepped on foreign soil, much less visited the actual sites mentioned in the Bible they’ve been reading since they were kids. Their preconceptions of Israel ranged from a desert country to a war-torn country in ruins. This trip changed that. They had the opportunity to truly see Israel for themselves. They toured the country with the richest history dating back thousands of years across three world religions juxtaposed to a country dubbed startup nation because of its concentration of innovation, talent and technology.

By empowering these athletes to become ambassadors of truth, AFI has pioneered a new chapter in combating antisemitism and changing the narrative about Israel. These athletes are not merely spokespeople—they are authentic witnesses who have seen and experienced Israel's essence firsthand. Their voices, amplified by their social media presence, carry an authenticity that is hard to refute.

A SPECIAL MOMENT

Dr. Robert Robbins is the president of the University of Arizona, the former CEO of the world’s largest hospital system and a cardiac surgeon. During his tour in Israel he visited Save a Child's Heart (SACH) Sylvan Adam’s Children's Hospital and the operating rooms.

To say that Dr. Robbins was impressed would be an understatement. He experienced and saw with his own eyes that patients from all over the world including Gaza, the West Bank and several countries in Africa, were receiving lifesaving treatment for their heart disease.

These are the kinds of experiences that Athletes for Israel makes happen for our participants.

The more that our players and staff can experience and see that Israel can be a “light unto other

nations,” the more we can change the narrative about Israel and combat antisemitism.

THE IMPACT

As the journey with these two teams concluded, the ripple effects of this mission are only beginning to be felt. The narrative is shifting, and it's being shifted by those who have experienced Israel firsthand—the athletes, the influencers, the storytellers. As AFI continues to pioneer these efforts, it becomes clear that change is not just possible; it's inevitable. With every athlete who steps onto Israeli soil, with every post shared, a new narrative is written—one that embraces the complexity, beauty, and innovation of Israel, and one that stands as an unwavering force against prejudice and misunderstanding.
