A word from your Captain. Hello Apprentices and Magisters, We are now in the month of November.
What a time to be among such a great company of Wizards!
Lately I've been dealing with the pressures of time management. This has been a lesson of value to me as the seasons shift and responsibilities of a Wizard never fade; they just transform. In placing our values in what we do as Wizards with what time is given, time management is a vital skill to develop. As we move into colder months, now is a great time to become still and reflect more on how best to utilize our time.
Sunday, November 7th, is daylight savings time and it makes clear that the value of light and time are shifting. For us that means staying indoors more and preparing for winter.
For those that live on a homestead or a farm they know this time of the year all too well. Tell me what your values are and as always I look forward to seeing you in the forums!

The Coterie of the Flowing Waters Greetings Waters, and welcome to our new lodge newsletter!
It strikes me as crazy that we are already through another month since I last wrote one of these excellent communication pieces to you.
First and foremost, I would like to say that I hope you all had a fantastic start to the fall and are eagerly anticipating the coming winter - it may be wise to invest in a nice thick fleece if you haven’t already!
We are currently trailing in 3rd position in the lodge competition so we really need to pull the socks up! We are progressing very well as the term go by but we need to really accelerate to move into 2nd position. I will be embarking on a drive to secure more personal merits, I hope you will join me on this endeavour. I have complete faith in our ability to get the job done!
The next thing I’d like to talk about is a Stones organised Moot that I recently participated in on the vGSW campus! With an invitation from the Provost, it was an event that I could not miss. And oh was I glad I went! Alongside other members of the leadership team as well as other Apprentices from various Lodges, it was a fantastic event with discussions and debates on lots of topics. I believe there is a recording available so I would strongly recommend you seek this out and watch it - you won’t be disappointed! I hope to see some of you for the next one.
In true keeping in short and sweet style, this is the end of our Newsletter but I hope you take the messages with you - keep pushing for points, enjoy yourselves and watch the moot!
As always, please feel free to reach out to me at Waters@GreySchool.com any time if you need any assistance with anything.
Blessed Be, Prefect Milan

The Order of the Dancing Flames
Greetings my fellow Flames! We have gotten through the first full month of the new term! I have had fun meeting or talking again with my fellow Flames Lodge members at our weekly meet & greet events, the virtual moots, or over the forums! I am hoping to talk with more of you as you join us, take on our lodge and school challenges, and continue your forward progress within our halls here.
Monthly Challenge: For this month, especially with the first of the fire signs coming up this term, is to take a look at the traits commonly associated with fire signs. The characteristics of our fiery personalities can sometimes help us get through tough situations, and other times put us in those same situations. This challenge is about us identifying those traits, and how they might be used. This challenge is yours until the end of November
Lumos Update – Lodge Project:We started discussing our lodge project options in the forums. After quite a discussion with other lodge members, I think we have a way to go forward. The basic idea of this project is to conduct an experiment to see if an apprentice looks to improve one's self through a holistic approach, one can improve in their magical workings. The only way this project works is if the lodge takes part in this, even though the specific actions taken for this would be independent. We have a couple days left to add your input on the project, before we get it started on the forums!
Our calendar of events: All of our planned events are placed in the calendar found on the GSW handbook site – upcoming moots, weekly meet and greets on vGSW, and other great things.
Leadership Opportunities: Every term we have a chance for an Apprentice to serve as a Prefect for their lodge. If you are interested, you have myself and other prior Apprentice leaders from the lodges whom you could approach and ask about serving in these positions. If you are interested, I highly recommend you take a look at the handbook.
As always, I look forward to walking these great halls with you! BRING THE FIRE!
Sincerely, Prefect Malcorr

Let’s give a formal welcome to our new Apprentices: Apprentice Samael Bell Stewart Apprentice Minerva
I want to officially inform you all that I will be holding office hours on Second Life and all of our social media accounts every Sunday from 12pm to 1pm PST (I might go a little longer than that depending upon how my classwork is going for Grey School).
Also, Apprentice Christopher Draven is putting together an event for the Winds Lodge for November 15th. An online Study Session. I want us to set that date aside so that we can all log on and take some time to get to know each other.
We also need to start planning for our Winds Lodge Celebration! I have put a few ideas together. Let me know what you think and if there is anything you would like to add! Until next time, Many Blessings Upon Ya’ll!

The Circle of the Standing Stones
Welcome to November, Stones!
With Pluto, Mercury and Jupiter now direct, we have a little room to breathe. Things feel clearer and opportunities for magick abound if you know where to look!
This is a month of adjustments as we move from passionate Scorpio into the fire sign of Sagittarius. This shift is an interesting one, moving out of a deep emotional center into something much lighter and brighter. Both energies offer us a chance to explore our desires (albeit from a different perspective!) as we walk a very adventurous road toward winter.
This is a wonderful time to play with your practice - experiment with your magick and unlock some of that potential that’s been brewing below the surface as you prepare for your winter retreat! And speaking of potential…We had an AMAZING lodge celebration last Saturday, and I am just in awe of how talented and creative our lodge members can be!
I’ve got a link to share if you want to see the recording, and there’s also a cool tarot spread design effort that’s gaining momentum as a result! We’ve got a new lodge challenge to talk about as well (I really think you’ll like this one!) and I want to congratulate Apprentice Rakkel for completing last month’s challenge and earning a merit for the lodge!
You can also earn merits by getting 100% on your final exams. Apprentices Macros Lindenshield, Willowind and Rakkel earned merits for achieving a perfect score on a final in October, so well done!
Ready to dive in? Then just click that link below to read the full newsletter!Don’t have access to the forums? Not a problem - just message me (Discord or email - Stones@GreySchool.com) and I’ll send you the newsletter via email.
Love & magick, Prefect Selah

A word from your Vice-Captain. Greetings and Salutations from your Vice-Captain, BlueCapucian DragonWolf.
In the Northern Hemisphere we are well into the Fall season. The cool wind, rain and promise of Winter are being felt by many. It is time to pull out our warm clothes, soup recipes and prepare our herbs for winter ailments.
In the Southern Hemisphere it is now Spring and the weather is warming up, gardens are being planned and even started.
Our Winter solstice celebration for Grey School on the vGSW campus online will be based on the Norse culture. The date for the vMoot on the vGSW campus will be announced soon. Our vMoots are streamed live on YouTube and are available to watch after the vMoot. There were fascinating workshops presented at our last vMoot and I encourage you to watch and enjoy the keen minds of your fellow Apprentices and the Faculty of the Grey School of Wizardry.
Our Weekly Meet and Greets on the vGSW campus are hosted by a different Lodge each week. We have interesting discussions about classes, cooking, gardening, mathemagicks, divination and assorted topics. I invite every Apprentice of the Grey School to come by on Wednesday evening from 6-7 pm Pacific Standard Time and spend some time chatting with like minded Wizards.
There is a calendar on the Grey School website and in Hobbit Hall on the vGSW campus where you can see what is going to be happening soon. I encourage everyone to check the calendars and come enjoy time spent with the other Apprentices and Magisters.
As your Vice-Captain I am available to assist you in any way I can. I will be online on the virtual campus every Monday and Thursday from 11 AM to 2 PM(pst). I may be on other times as well. I have a forum post in the Lodge Forums where we can all post when we are online, I hope this will help us be able to meet up with each other more often.
Be well one and all.
Vice-Captain BlueCapucian DragonWolf
