C&D is equal parts store, homage to american industry, and inspiration for crafting experiences in your own backyard.

Yeah, technically it was on April 9th, but better late than never, eh? We've included a super cool article on the history of gin, make sure you check it out below! More in the mood to drink than to read? Maybe now is the time to take your friends out for a lunchtime G&T...

Our new normal is still being hashed out by the folks with MDs, PHDs, and policy-maker positions, so we'll leave the COVID debating to them, but damn is it great to see life inching towards what once was. Restaurants are seating more people, bars are opening as much as they can, and it's made all the better by more consistent warm weather. We're so close.

To that end, we sincerely encourage our readers to get out and explore if you're able to do so safely.

The service industry was basically bottomed out by COVID and needs every bit of your support to get back on its feet. So go check out your neighborhood bar that was shuttered for months. Of course, don't be a jerk - be mindful of the establishment's COVID policy, but enjoy yourself and leave a generous tip.

Last newsletter, we introduced you to our founders and they were both wearing C&D shirts. After a flurry of requests from C&D supporters asking where they could buy them, we realized we should probably offer them on our website. So we ordered a bunch! They're in production now and here's what you can expect:

Sticking true to our commitment to source, make, or sell American products, these shirts are made in the States (from 50% cotton and 50% recycled water bottles). We promise they're super comfy!

We have a cocktail competition winner! Hats off to Sean R. for submitting two killer drinks and winning a free C&D Drinks Deck in the process. He created two drinks, both modeled on the COVID vaccine. The first drink has a smooth finish, followed by a second that hits like a fever and cold chills at 2am. But really, they're both solid creations. Check 'em out:

THE NEWYORKER

Intoxicating Gin History

"Not that long ago, gin was for squares. Maybe your parents drank it, and your grandparents before them. Gin: the very word was plain and unexciting. How uncool was it to opt for gin...when the whisky-loving dude beside you at the bar was still deciding among Bruichladdich, Craigellachie, and Smoky Goat?"

This article will make you ditch the unpronounceable and sip gin instead...
