Water Monitoring Season is almost here!

Our Monitoring committee will be sampling 45 locations around the watershed,

three times a season!

Speaking of water monitoring, the new stream sensor was installed on the Maquoketa River in Jackson County last Friday. The data will be uploaded to the website every 13 minutes ( link will be shared when live). The parameters measured will include nitrates, dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity, turbidity, and temperature.

Huge thank you to University of Iowa's Hydroscience & Engineering Program ( IIHR) and Iowa Flood Center for working with us on this.

The operation and maintenance of this stream sensor is funded via the Clif Family Foundation Grant the MR WMA was awarded Dec. 2023.

Sneak preview for something exciting that we're collaborating on with Franklin Street Brewing Company . The brewery is located on the banks of the Maquoketa River in Manchester. Stay tuned for release updates ahead of the summer calendar of events!
