Classes for adults included: 1. woodworking mallet, 2. steam bent shaker boxes, 3. grizzly bear cutting board with CNC router embellishments, 4. custom designed stool, 5. sanding drawdown table, 6. scroll saw Christmas ornaments, 7. hall bench with drawers, 8. scroll saw puzzle, 9. chainsaw milling, 10. outdoor bench, 11. steam bent chair, 12. cedar planter and a 13. moose lawn ornament. In the kids class we built a bird feeder and every child went home with a completed project. Update From the Scrollers: Summer is finally here! Time to get outside and enjoy that sunshine. The scroll clubs are done for the season. It was a fun year with new members and new projects. At this point there will not be a meeting in Anchorage next year. If there is someone who would like to lead a group please let Jim Powell know. The Valley group is tentatively set for next fall at the SBS in Wasilla. We will be changing the day to the 3rd Saturday of the month instead of the 4th. We missed 3 scroll sessions due to the holidays falling on the 4 weekend of the month. Spenard Builders Supply has been terrific to work with this year. They have been very accommodating and helpful. As a token of our appreciation Rhonda made an eagle clock, which was presented to Lee Rahn, Asst Manager. We are looking forward to continuing this partnership. The club's next big event is the State Fair. We will once again be demonstrating the art and cutting puzzles for the children. We'd be grateful if everyone would join us in demonstrating and talking to the fairgoers. Please let Rhonda know if you plan to attend so we can get tickets and parking passes. Hope to see everyone at the fair. Happy Scrolling!! |
