Outsmarting the Tinder Swindler |
My fictional relationships with the Tinder Swindler and Anna Sorokin, delicious treats, Purim fun, and Passover updates. |
Hello! I'm so excited about today's newsletter. I've been creating a lot of great content for Danielle in Doodles and Jews in Doodles (my new account!). I've also been inspired by fraudsters recently featured on Netflix, so I imagined my relationships with the Tinder Swindler and Ana Sorokin in doodles. Note that for space, I only included a preview, and you can click to see the full cartoons. I have a fun video from my Purim party and am sharing a preview of the new Haggadah cover. I'm a little overwhelmed by Passover but I'm getting it all done! Let's get into the doodles. If you're new to Danielle in Doodles, welcome! I publish this newsletter of my latest doodles and updates most Sundays, and you can see archives here. Doodles are usually about life in NYC, pop culture, and my Jewish culture and holidays. |

My fake relatonship with Simon Leviev, the Tinder Swindler |
I've dated a few Israelis (see my updated "Types of Jewish guys I've dated" doodle here), so I had to imagine what it would be like to date Simon Leviev. I think he'd give up on me pretty quickly because if you know me, you know I like to ask A LOT of questions. Pro tip: Sometimes you can save yourself or get what you want by asking so many questions and being so complicated, the other person will do anything to get you to go away. I promise it works. |

Inventing Anna + Danielle |
I've never met Anna Sorokin. I moved to New York in 2016, and we just didn't quite overlap. Ok, to be honest, we probably never would have met because we don't have much in common. But I still felt like I've met people like her. So, I pulled an Anna and used my imagination for this doodle. |

I made three Purim card options and got them printed on Friday. They look so good and I used them at my Purim party on Saturday — I put them out at a letter-writing station! If you want to print these out yourself, reply to this email and I'll send you the file. |

How to have a perfect Purim party |

I had a party this weekend and made a video about it! This video is under a minute, get some tips and learn from my mistakes. |

I recently wrote an article for Boro Magazine about a Queens couple who started Oy Vey Osteria. I finally tried the Oy Vey treats and served their Hamantaschen and Babka at my party, they were delicious. |
The couple behind Oy Vey Osteria tell their storyNewlyweds Samantha Hunt and Luca Frau discovered that their differences complement each other well in life - and in the kitchen. Hunt is a Jewish teacher and artist from New York, and Frau is a trained chef from Italy. Together, they started Oy Vey Osteria, offering the best baked goods from both worlds. |
