"Dear friends of the NAB, The last few days mark an increasing global shift towards impact investing. First, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink alerted governments of rich countries that they were going to have to increase their spendings significantly in risk-mitigating instruments if we were ever to mobilize enough institutional investments to address the climate crisis. While many impact investors already know about and understand the benefits of blended finance, it was interesting to read that a major investment management corporation is addressing both public and financial sectors on their responsibilities. Then ABP, the largest Dutch pension fund and 3rd pension fund in the world, after PME one month ago, announced that they will stop investing in coal, oil, and gas companies. They will instead invest more in renewable energy AND they mentioned that they expect to keep the same level of return while doing so! Don't forget to fill in our State of the Dutch impact investing ecosystem survey if you haven't done it yet. We have extended the deadline. Every response counts. Here is an update about our activities and planned events." - Laure Wessemius-Chibrac, Managing Director |

The Digital Agri Hub has been officially launched on 12 October and the project website is now live https://digitalagrihub.org/. Speakers from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, FCDO, USAID, Grameen Foundation, GSMA, Wageningen University & Research and the NAB explained how D4Ag solutions can accelerate the transformation towards a climate-resilient, sustainable and inclusive agri-food system. The digital agri-sector is still highly complex and fragmented and there is significant potential for establishing sustainable partnerships and investments. For this reason, there is a growing need for greater coordination of D4Ag solutions and their overarching ecosystem. The Digital Agri Hub wants to respond to the direct needs of the diverse stakeholders groups that play an active role in D4Ag, including capital providers. We invite impact investors that would like to contribute or simply learn more about the project to get in touch with us simona@nabimpactinvesting.nl. |
