We are one week into the majority of students being back in the classroom - how are you, your family, and your friends holding up?
A new school year always brings with it a sense of renewal, whether you are directly impacted or just getting back into a routine with your community. It also signifies that we are even closer to candidate filing in February, primaries in May, and the mid-term elections in November.
Please take some time to get to know candidates who have announced and continue to ask women to run for office all around you. From initial reads of the Census data, it appears many school districts will be completely redrawn which will open the doors for all new elections across many regions. Let's work to find strong, smart Democrats to run for School Board, Countywide and JP seats, and State House and Senate seats to directly represent Arkansans in our very own communities.
You can find the list of candidates on our AFDW website and we'll continue to keep a running list as more announcements are made. Look for ways to support candidates in a way that's meaningful to you - financially, via social media, volunteer roles, and registering voters are all great ways to show your support!
