Dear Second Presbyterian Church Community,
We hope this update finds you happy and healthy. As we've mentioned, it is now more important than ever that we stay connected, so we continue to ensure you receive regular updates on the happenings at Second Presbyterian Church.
Combined Worship Service
We hope you’ve worshiped with us during our combined online worship services on Sundays with First Presbyterian Church and Countryside Trinity Church. Be sure to join us online this Sunday, April 19, 2020 at 10:30 AM as we continue to bring three of the Presbyterian congregations of Saginaw together during this time.

Lectionary Readings for the Second Sunday of Easter:
Worship
A reminder that session has extended our current, online-only worship with First Presbyterian Church and Countryside Trinity Church through April 30, 2020.
Non-Worship Activities
All non-worship activities of the church have been cancelled or postponed. At this time the group meetings, Youth Group, bazaar, or committee meetings are postponed.
Interim Pastor Search
The Session and Interim Search Committee is nearing the completion of the hiring process with a candidate and hope to have an Interim Pastor in place in the not-too-distant future. A start date has not yet been established. The committee is excited for our congregation as we head into the next phase of our pastoral transition.
Tithes and Gifts
We have received communications from folks with their concerns about continuing to support the church with their tithes and offerings. Even during our building is temporarily close, our ministry continues. This can be accomplished by mailing a check directly to the church or even setting up online bill pay. We thank each and every one of you for your continued support.
At this time, quarterly giving statements will not be delivered, as they are usually distributed following worship. Paper statements will be distributed in July. If you are in need of a giving statement please do not hesitate to contact the church office.
Mission News
Our April Mission Focus will be the collection of non-perishable items for the Food Pantry at First Presbyterian Church. We'll be collecting money and/or food as soon as we are able. The food pantry will need Everything as soon as their doors open again.
PYG
The Youth Group will meet on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at 11:45 AM via Zoom. Youth will receive an email from Tammi with a link to the meeting.

“I have been thinking of all the wonderful members of Second Presbyterian Church as our world seems to be turned upside down. I have you all in my thoughts and prayers, hoping that everyone will stay safe. It’s hard for me to believe all the changes since my wonderful retirement party. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for a wonderful celebration. A celebration that started with an instrumental fanfare and the voice of God was destined to be perfect. The sheep have always been able to steal the show so I was delighted to see them and it would have been hard to leave without a visit from the camel. The pirates in their wonderful hats werrrrrre rrrrrrrealy grrrrrrreat! I loved the choir songs. The cake was gorgeous and yummy and in true Second Presbyterian style, the fellowship was the best. I am so very blessed that I had a job I loved at Second Presbyterian with all my very special friends. Thank you so much! - Laurel
“We want to thank our church family for all the prayers, cards and calls that sent good wishes our way. Ed & Alice DeWyse
“Thank you for the cards and flowers in celebration of my birthday!” Helen Hellman
“We offer our prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Robert “Bob” Van Auken at his death this past week.”
If you know of someone in our church community who does not have internet access please share the latest in this mailing with them. Just because our regular worship has been put on hold doesn’t mean we stop worshipping our Lord by serving one another. We are in this together. We look forward to worshipping with you, from a distance, on Sunday.
Faithfully,
The Session
