HMS DRAGON

HMS Dragon in Charleston Harbor. By looking at this picture, you now might understand why Brittania truly did rule the waves for centuries. The Fighting Brits are just bloody badass. Also, just how cool is it that this beauty is sitting in this Southern port of call. And...what a coincidence...the new title for the next Hawke book? Aye, that would be -- DRAGON.

The SPY Whom I Loved

I fell head over heels in love with fast when I was sweet 16. I begged my Dad for an Indian motorcycle and he gave me a look and said, "Sure Son, great idea! I'll give you one for your last birthday!" Here is one of the speed queens I bought for myself a few years later for high velocity runs down to the Keys. I named her Spy and she was a beauty. But boy, was she a pain in the...uh...motor.

The Man With The Golden Gun

Gentleman Spy Alex Hawke is desperate to find THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN. If you think you know where he is, submit your answer to ted@tedbell.com.

10 lucky winners, chosen at random, will win a signed hardcover copy of the fabulous new Lord Alex Hawke spy thriller, DRAGON, out next Spring. In addition, winners will also become members of the elite Hawke Squad. "Pretty good gravy" as Scotland Yard's Chief Inspector, Ambrose Congreve would say!

Cam Bridge

One of my favorite memories of my year in England as Visiting Scholar/Writer-in-Residence at Cambridge University. This shot was taken Spring Semester when my daughter Byrdie was visiting. We were punting on the Cam River and I took this from the Cam Bridge.

Cam Bridge. Get it?
