Saskatoon-based Jillian Ross Print (JRP) is thrilled to be working with Remai Modern on two exhibitions to be showcased over the course of the year.
For Live Editions, JRP will move two printing presses into Remai Modern's Connect Gallery to edition a new series of prints made in collaboration with William Kentridge. These photogravure and photopolymer prints are based from the artist's theatrical performance, The Great Yes, The Great No.
Additionally, the presentation will include a selection of prints from JRP's last three years of collaborations. This includes prints from Saskatchewan artist, Wally Dion, who during a two week in-gallery residency at Remai Modern, will develop a new body of prints in front of a visiting audience.
Life in Print brings together two of the most prolific and innovative artists of the 20th and 21st centuries: Pablo Picasso and William Kentridge. The exhibition includes Kentridge’s The Universal Archive, which was printed by Ross whilst she was the master printer at the David Krut Workshop in Johannesburg. These linocuts will be showcased alongside a selection of Picasso’s linocuts from the collection at Remai Modern.
