Hi there,

If you've been receiving my emails for a while, you might remember me sharing a lovely positive progress story from Angeline who had come to me for help in tackling her Long Covid health challenge. She had spent the first part of her journey not sure what to do, or who might be able to help her. But she was thrilled to be finally starting to feel improvements were happening. And she was so thankful to me for helping her, that she wanted to share her story with others in the hope that it would inspire them to seek help too.

Yesterday I was delighted to receive another even more uplifting message from Angeline. Only four months on from feeling that things were finally starting to move forward, she's pretty sure she's close to being back in full health again.

Having guided hundreds of people through their fatigue rescues, I can confirm this is often how things go. Once improvements start to happen, they usually increase in pace quite nicely. As I often tell people, it's the first part of the journey that's often the longest. The biggest challenge is waiting to feel you've started to turn a corner. But once that happens, you'll hopefully find things start to move forward at a pleasing rate (as long as you continue to do all of the smart things, of course!).

This email is a little longer than my usual messages, but I thought I'd share both of Angeline's messages with you in full, as a clear example of what can be achieved. Her success story didn't involve magic cures or mysterious healing approaches. It was about figuring out how to crack the important basics and finding a way to feel hopeful again. I hope her story gives you hope too.

Here are her messages....

"Dear Pamela,

I wanted to send you a note following the Three Week Fatigue Rescue course to basically say a huge thank you and let you know how useful it has been for me. Before  finding  this, I had joined a couple of free Long Covid groups which I swiftly had to leave as they tend to be filled with scary descriptions of symptoms and stories of despair. So it has been such a relief and so helpful to be part of a group which is full of positivity, advice, structure and a small number of others who are going through something similar.

Even though it's a group setting I really appreciated the 1 on 1 interaction you have been able to give during the course - whether in the Q&As, comments on the Facebook group or via email. I hadn't realised how much opportunity for tailored advice there would be during it and I found the mix of learning from others whilst still accessing specific advice for me very helpful.

Before joining I wondered how much I'd be able to engage with the course but the guidance, methods and materials are so easy to digest that I was able to really make the most of it. In fact, I actually really looked forward to watching/listening to/reading new material as it felt like there was constant support there for me, a sense of empowerment and friendly reminders that I can have some element of control over what's happening and even more mind-blowingly for me - do things to help!

And on that note, I've recently experienced a big improvement in my day-to-day life and I'm feeling the most optimistic I have in a while. Thank you, Angeline"

"Hi Pamela, hope you are keeping cool in the heatwave!

I just wanted to send you a huge thank you for all of your help during my recovery from long covid. During such a difficult time it can be hard to know where to turn, especially when doctors can do so little, and I'm so thankful I was recommended to you.

I found your pacing methodology to be one of the main factors in aiding my recovery and had I not committed to taking it on properly I really do believe my recovery would have taken longer. In addition to the core pacing approach, I also found so much value in all of the supplementary information to complement it - from reframing to nutrition to sleep hygiene and so much more. Being armed with all of this I was able to feel informed and like I had some agency in my recovery journey.

I'd also like to call out and say a special thank you for all of the personalised support I received from you, whether during the Fatigue Rescue course or in 1:1 sessions. Being able to speak to someone who has both personal and professional experience of similar situations to mine was immensely reassuring, and everything we discussed always resulted in a positive outcome for me. I can think of a few conversations in particular where I was having lots of doubts and you really helped me to make good, informed decisions which lead to me achieving key milestones and gaining in confidence.

I'm so relieved and happy to be able to say that I'm now living back in my own flat, managing a successful return to work and booking a lovely beach holiday with my fiancé. Once I've been for a jog and had a glass of fizz (on separate occasions!) I think I'll be able to say to myself I've fully recovered, and while I'm taking my time with these 2 final goals I'm very confident I'll be achieving them sometime soon. I'd recommend your help to anyone, and I hope my story encourages them to get in touch. Thank you again, Angeline."

Angeline found my Three Week Fatigue Rescue programme extremely helpful as she figured out the best fatigue rescue plan for her situation. If you're keen to access the same guidance, the next intake starts in just over a week - on Tuesday 23rd August. Click here to find out more and reserve a place.

Bye for now,

Pamela
