Scrollers Club Update

Sawdust was flying at our meeting in April. We had a great turnout of members and newcomers. The newcomers bought a used saw and the guys were able to make adjustments so it ran better. The young men were designing their own patterns and cutting them out. It was great to see the next generation enjoying and learning the craft.

There was more information shared about a possible club in the valley.  The manager of AIH Wasilla John Ashe agreed to proving space for the club to meet next fall. He will be contacting his boss to confirm the approval. Next step is approval from our board. This is all contingent on interest at the State Fair in starting a club in the valley.

We also discussed additional options for giving out the puzzles and toys at Christmas. We’re hoping to give them to the hospitals, but we’re considering alternatives if that doesn’t work out this year. We will continue production. If anyone is interested in making them over the summer please get in touch with Ray. We will be making puzzles at the State Fair as well. This year at the fair we will again be making frogs and will be adding butterflies. Please make plans to join us at the fair.

Our next meeting is Saturday, May 21 at the AIH training room. Bring your saws and a project to work on. Hope to see you there. Happy Scrolling.
