September is a big month for many of us: Back to School, Back to Work....

and Back to the Doctor? Is it time to schedule your routine wellness visits?

What's New

Some patients have found it a bit tricky to find me, tucked away in the Center for Digestive Health. My Penn Medicine at Princeton Medical Center team has come through again with more signage around the Medical Arts Pavilion! This one will greet you as you step off the elevator on the 4th Floor.

Some patients may have concerns about coming to the hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. I understand your worries! Penn Medicine at Princeton Medical Center is doing an excellent job of keeping patients and healthcare workers safe during this time!

  • The entrance to the Medical Arts Pavilion is separate from the ER or main hospital.
  • There is screening when you enter- every person is required to wear a mask and is asked approximately 10 screening questions to gauge any potential risk of exposure to COVID.
  • The appointments time slots are longer to avoid delays (and therefore you spend less time in the waiting room).
  • Visitors are limited.

An alternative option is to schedule a Telemedicine appointment and have a consultation with me from the comfort of your own home! There are some conditions that require an in-person examination, but many issues can be addressed via telemed. We can come up with a plan of action, I can submit new prescriptions or adjust medication dosages, and then reserve an in-person appointment for when we have imaging and lab results to discuss!

All patients who are having surgeries or procedures requiring anesthesia are scheduled for COVID-19 testing 48 hours before their scheduled procedure. This added measure protects the patient and the staff from exposures! If you've been putting off that colonoscopy or other diagnostic procedure, now may be the time to get it done- when we are ALL taking extra precautions and hospital volume is low in general!

Schedule

My website now contains links for a  "New Patient Information Form" and a "Medical Records Release." You can (a) fill them out via Adobe Acrobat on your computer or (b) print it out and fill it in with ink.

Please send in prior to your next visit (PMPH-GynSurgery@pennmedicine.upenn.edu) or bring them with you, even if you have seen me at a different practice previously. I would love to gather all relevant health history from previous practices prior to our visits.

If you've already come to see me but did not get a chance to fill this out at your recent visit, please click below to do so now, (even after the fact) so that we can compile the most accurate information about your health in my new records!

Collaborations & Social Media

I'm not one to spend much time on my phone or document every aspect of my day, but professionally, social media has allowed me to connect with an array of organizations and people (from all over the world!) who are interested in various aspects of gynecology and health.

Perry.

An online community of women interested in and suffering form perimenopause.

Through social media collaborations and a private Facebook group, women can share and learn more about this sometimes difficult transition. Sometime it just helps to know you are not alone!
