PASTORAL PAGE THE RUTHLESS ELIMINATION OF HURRY by Elder Lynette Shek I do not know about you, but I often feel hurried and harried with work, errands, obligations and unexpected demands on my time. I run from activity to activity, often multi-tasking to try and get everything done on time. There is little margin, which of course worsens the hurry and stress because I allow so little time to get to the next meeting, to church, and for meet-ups with friends. APPLICATION FOR BAPTISM/TRANSFER OF CHURCH MEMBERSHIP The second baptism and membership transfer of 2024 is scheduled for 2 and 3 November 2024. All completed application forms for baptism and membership transfer must be submitted to the Church Office via email to office@biblechurch.sg by 1 September 2024 (Sunday). Application Form: MS Word (fillable) / PDF Please note the following requirements: Baptism & Membership transfer applicants – to attend 4 classes (for English service only) scheduled for Sundays 8, 15, 22 and 29 September from 10.30am – 12pm. Membership transfer applicants (should be regular worshippers with the church for at least a year) – please submit your salvation testimony and reason for transfer together with your application.

DONATION OF USED MOBILE PHONES, LAPTOPS AND CAMERAS We are looking for mobile phones, laptops and cameras, along with their chargers, to be donated to our Nepal church planters. The items should be in good working condition and all personal data should be removed from them. Please contact the Mission staff, Wendy Han, at wendy@biblechurch.sg to arrange your donation. CONDOLENCES Our deepest condolences to Victor Lee and his family on the home calling of his beloved mother, Mdm Wong Lai Choo, on 24 August 2024. She was the mother-in-law of Ruby and grandmother of Jotham & Siyan, Matthan & Yi Ling, Jonathan & Jiayun, David & Shu Mei; and great grandmother of Abigail, Joanna, Joash, Ezra, Joseph and Joshua. Please remember the family and their loved ones in prayer at this time of bereavement. END OF APPRENTICESHIP Daniel Eu’s year long apprenticeship with the church office will come to an end on 31 August 2024. We are very grateful to Daniel for his service, especially in the YAF, Teenacity and CG ministry. Daniel has applied himself faithfully to his roles as a teacher, worship leader, YAF Retreat chairperson, CG Leader and mentor. He will continue to serve as an active volunteer in The Bible Church while exploring work options in the next phase of his life. He will also continue to receive training as he discerns if vocational church ministry is his call in the long-term. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours! STAFF MOVEMENTS 1. Ps Lim Wei-en will be on leave from 1 to 4 September 2024. 2. Asst Ps Patrick Chan Yin will be on leave from 2 to 4 September 2024. 3. COUNSELLING MINISTRY There are certain times in our lives when we feel stuck or unable to cope. If you are going through a season of challenges and need emotional support, the Lay Counselling Ministry in the Bible Church would love to pray and journey with you through your struggles and difficulties. Trained counsellors are available to help with pastoral care and short-term counselling for children, youth and adults, including TBC members, regular attendees and those seeking Christian counsel.
