Squash Juggling and Joyful New Connections |

Hey ya'll! Wow what a whirlwind this spring has been! So much growth and change in all the ways. We'll stick with just a few updates for now. Some events to come. Thank you, truly, for following along on our journey and supporting our small town farm. |

We're still making order after the tornado that hit us, making peace with our beloved fallen red oak, and reinventing spaces now that we've lost so much shade. Our front yard especially has a very different vibe now, but we're starting to see the new vision and look forward to watching it evolve. Nature has many lessons to teach us. And we're feeling super duper grateful for all the love our community has shown us as we get situated and find our new flow. Fall is gonna be fun. |

You can find us every Saturday at the San Marcos Farmer's Market, but did you know we have an online shop too? We just updated it with some of our newer offerings like Stuntman Salve, Long Hot Summer tea, and Fairy Dust. We honestly haven't promoted our online shop much because it's just us two doing all the things and we were hesitant to manage more. But now that it's updated, we're ready to go and excited for you to check it out! You can choose free local pickup or shipping anywhere in the US. And if you order through our site, we'd really appreciate it if you wrote us a review. That's a new feature we just figured out how to add. Thank you, thank you. |

Planning Your Fall Garden |
|
|
August can be a bit of a bummer in how dreadfully hot it is, but wow what a different one we're having this year at least. Random rain storms? Yes please! August is a great time to save seeds, start seeds, prune back herbs to encourage new growth in the fall, love on your plants to help them through the heat, amend your garden with compost and mulch and nutrients, and dreamscape garden plans for the fall. And if you're able to keep a closer eye on them to help them settle in, you can still succession plant flowers like cosmos, zinnias, tihonia, celosia, gomphrena. Squashes, cucumbers, and other heat-loving plant friends can be planted still too. Just consider your average first frost date and the plant's days to maturity to make sure you have enough time to get fruit. Here's a blog post we wrote about planning your fall garden. |

We LOVE fall gardening and have already started a bunch of plant babies, which will start making their appearance at the market in September and October. Normally seed starting is a solo project, but this year we did it with our growing community of plant friends. That makes these seedlings all the more special. And over this next month, we'll be potting them up, hand watering them with organic nutrients, and moving them around so they're acclimated to life outdoors. When you buy our plant starts this fall, you can think of all the love that went into them every step of the way. |

We've been coordinating volunteer days through a whatsapp group and we've grown a fun crew of plant friends who come out to get their hands dirty with us. The tasks change based on what the need is, but you can expect seeds, snacks, laughs, shared knowledge, and you may even get to witness Miguel's squash juggling skills. :) It's always a fun time. |
