Namaste,
I hope you had a good break and are ready to start a new year of research and transformation with yoga.
With the beginning of the year we feel the need to renew ourselves, we have new hopes, we look for new opportunities and it is usually the time when we make resolutions for the future.
In Yoga we speak of "Sankalpa". Sankalpa is a Sanskrit word which means "purpose" or "intention".
When we express resolutions for the new year, they are often dictated by our ego and linked to the material world. We often find ourselves at the end of the year having implemented none of them.
Sankalpa, on the other hand, is a desire that comes from deep inside and doesn't necessarily need to be set at the beginning of a year.
Expressing a Sankalpa helps us channel energies to fulfill our life purpose.
It is like a seed that we plant, water every day and observe growing slowly into a plant which brings fruits. Likewise, when we express a Sankalpa, we can establish the small steps to be followed gradually to bring this deep desire to fruition and improve our existence. It becomes a daily work on ourselves, a path of spiritual research (in yoga called Sadhana) that we hold on to, even when our ego resists to it.
If you wish to learn and experience more about this, you can join one of my monthly Relax XXL classes. During these courses we bring the body and mind to a total state of inner peace with the practice of restorative yoga. We then continue with a long Yoga Nidra session in which in the total silence of your mind, you can welcome and express your Sankalpa. The next class will take place via zoom on January 27th. All the details are below.
I take this opportunity to let you know that the next online Hormone Yoga workshop in English will take place on March 19th in cooperation with Sampoorna Yoga Brussels. Also for this event you will find the details below.
I wish you a peaceful and healthy 2022 and I hope to see you again soon and practice together.
Lucia
