Dear Round-Up Readers, This is it, Thanksgiving week is upon us and here in London, it already feels like the holiday season with sparkly lights up all over. I'm 100 % here for it! Yet, though the industry is experiencing strong bookings, today's (London) Times reports, "Many people are experiencing HOGO (the hassle of going out) after becoming too used to nights at home watching TV, and are not bothering to turn up to restaurant bookings and other nights out." Citing research from UKHospitality--a trade group that represents everything from hotels and visitor attractions to bars and restaurants--no-shows at pre-paid sporting and music events were around 15% and 15-20% at restaurants. What is happening where you are? I’ll be going out!!! Will you? Lots of new terms, buzzwords, acronyms, and trend-spotting happening in the news this week so let's get to it: - Last week, international travel opened to the US, CNBC rounds up where foreigners are headed.
