Hello donors and friends,
Our crop of winter wheat at the farm at Alberton was harvested by Miller
Farms on July 18. We were concerned about the damage that may have been
done to this crop due to the very dry weather in June, just at the time the
wheat was forming its heads. As it turns out we had a good average crop in
spite of this drought. We harvested 178 tonnes, or 91 bushels per acre in
old fashioned terms, still a respectable yield. When sold, the crop returned
$529 per acre or $38000 total. When all of our expenses are paid later in
the year we will be able to share the final total of our donation to the
Foodgrains Bank
We want to thank all of our donors for your help with our project this year.
Together we are making real progress in helping our overseas partners in
their work to end global hunger.
