By Judy Koehly In an era where climate change and overdevelopment pose significant threats to wildlife habitats, our gardens can become crucial sanctuaries for songbirds, butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects. "Is Your Garden for the Birds?" highlights the urgent need to transform our outdoor spaces into bird-friendly environments. By incorporating locally native plants such as American Beauty-Berry, American Holly, and Service Berry, among others, we can offer birds nutritious food sources, shelter, and vital refuge, especially during migration periods. The article also emphasizes the importance of providing fresh, clean water through accessible birdbaths and suggests adding features like drip baths or fountains to attract birds with the sound of running water, underscoring our role in supporting these essential members of our ecosystem. |

Yard Waste Pick-Up Reminder This year, our yard waste pick-up will be handled by Cox Construction and will begin on Monday, May 13th. This gives our residents who live elsewhere ample opportunity to visit their properties over the next three weekends to prepare their yards for pick-up. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to get out and rake those leaves! Just remember to take frequent breaks and stay hydrated, especially as the weather warms up. |

Basketball, Playground, and Pickleball Quiet Hours To ensure a harmonious environment for all community members, we are updating the hours of operation for both the basketball, playground, and pickleball courts to match those of the pool. The new hours will be from 7am to 9pm daily. This decision comes in response to concerns raised about excessive noise late at night, particularly from the basketball court. We believe that aligning the operational hours of these facilities will not only address these concerns but also maintain the peaceful atmosphere of our community. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to the new hours, ensuring that everyone can enjoy these amenities while respecting our neighbors' need for quiet during late hours. |

We're excited to unveil our new Voluntary Resident Directory! While the previous version was beautifully done, it required significant time to produce and update. Our Communications Committee is excited to introduce a new directory that maintains access to the same vital information but with real-time updates for your convenience. A unique form has been developed for residents to input their information, which is then automatically updated in a searchable online sheet. If you've already submitted your details, no further action is needed. For those who wish to add or update their information, simply fill out this linked form. Instructions Directory Form Community Directory Access to this form and the up-to-date directory is available exclusively on the River Run website under the members area. Should you have any questions or comments, please reach out to Ken Koehly (kenkoehly@gmail.com). |
