Meet the 2024 Million Girls Moonshot Flight Crew member, Yaniret, from Grenta, Louisiana. Aiming for a career in Chemical Engineering, Yaniret is fueled by her mother's encouragement and her strong interest in STEM. Her skills in robotics were significantly enhanced at an LSU Engineering camp, complementing her academic achievements and boosting her confidence. This experience also complemented her academic pursuits, enabling success in her school's robotics elective. Beyond her technical interests, Yaniret is passionately involved in STEM advocacy, policy, student government, tutoring, volunteering, and explores biomedical engineering, showcasing a holistic dedication to STEM empowerment. |

Annual LASTEM Summit: Call for Presenters and Exhibitors The Annual LASTEM Summit will be at the Lafayette Cajundome again. The summit brings together educators from K-12, higher education, and STEM professionals for a comprehensive event focused on enhancing science and math education. Participants will enjoy a range of activities including STEM presentations, teacher workshops, and demonstrations in robotics and Esports, alongside opportunities to connect with educational outreach organizations. The deadline for presenter applications for the Annual LASTEM Summit is March 22, 2024, at 5 PM CST. Submissions after this deadline will only be considered on needs basis.
