Hey everyone So we're going to keep this to a short mail this week; partly because we are travelling and partly following the feedback that have receives - see, we do listen! We have had a couple of people ask why were promoting deals and offers, with all that is happening in the country. The simple answer is that now the businesses need our support more than ever. They are dealing with soaring prices, shortages, power cuts and fewer customers as less people are going out. So a familiar plea: please support your local bars and restaurants; order a meal; go out for a drink, go see a band or enjoy a club. They appreciate every customer. Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch Walawwa Kade are well known for their Sri Lankan lunch packs but they now offer breakfast for delivery too, including Kiribath, Tempered Kadala, Green Gram, Pol Roti, Stringhoppers and more. These are available through the usual, main delivery partners. Thuna Paha at Water's Edge are offering an Executive Lunch, from Rs3150 or from Rs3400 for a mutton option. Nuga Rosmead have a Sri Lankan lunch pack available with rice, a choice of curry and accompaniments, currently priced at Rs750 and available from 10.30am. Live Music and DJs This week seems to be fairly quiet except for Friday, when Colombar is hosting "Jolly Night" with DJ Mass, Romaine & Apzi, plus Chitra and Kurumba. Also on Friday, Jaya Sri and Gypsies are playing "Ojaya Night" at the Full Moon Hotel, Katunayake. For the list of who is playing where, please see our gig diary. A few highlights - on Friday you can catch The Rugrats at Curve Bar, The Neighbours at Allstar, Dream Caravan at Asylum and The Notion at In on the Green. Friday is also the big day for EDM and DJ music. At Ask For Fern, DJs Hitch, Kyze and Mercue are celebrating "Thank God It's Friday". At The Love Bar, it's Frisky Friday with DJs Trev D, Henricus and Dirty Dzn. And guest DJ Avantika will be at Botanik for one night only, as well as Clifford Isaac. Also on Friday it's "Urban Sound" at The Joint with DJs Lunatics and Kaden Junior. On Saturday the long awaited Time Stamp EDM festival is finally taking place with a line up of over a dozen DJs, playing at The Royal MAS Arena from 3.00pm onward. | | |

Other Events There's a comedy night, "Ado No", with Haha Lanka at The Local By Doc on Friday evening, starting from 6.30pm. Pulse have started a series of topical talks called "The Way Out", to talk about some of the challenges. The next is on the subject of the downgrading of Sri Lanka's credit ratings and what it means. This is online on Thursday at 7pm. On Saturday, there's a Sync & Move class, to practice movement and flow, at TA Fitness from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. Desi Beats meet to learn Bollywood Dancing. This is weekly on Tuesdays at 7.15pm at Stretch Studios. There is a new Sunrise Pilates class on offer, poolside at Jetwing Colombo 7 on Tuesdays from 6.30am. Nurdle Free Lanka have been doing an amazing job cleaning up Sri Lanka's beaches from plastic nurdles. They have another volunteer beach clean up this weekend on Saturday from 2pm to 5pm at Jetwing Sea Beach in Negombo. Transport is available from Colombo. | | |
