It's poetry business as usual at Scriptstuff, with our regular monthly Poetry Nights continuing every third Wednesday at Temperance in Leamington Spa, 7-10pm.  We welcome familiar faces and newcomers alike to the relaxed and cozy Magic Lantern Room (which is a posh name for the basement), and every month we have the Big Poetry Quiz, open mic slots available for everyone, the judges' choice for Poet of the Month and of course a fabulous headline guest!  No need to book tickets or reserve a slot, just pay £3 on the door (cash or card), sit back and share the poetry love.

This month our headline guest is the hilarious Chuck the Poet (above).

Arrive as early as you like though, because Temperance is open all day and all evening serving treats, snacks and drinks from their licensed bar.

Aside from the Temperance menu, there is a veritable feast of poetic delights on offer, and we are especially looking forward to seeing and hearing a debut set from last month's Poet of the Month - the ridiculously talented Claire Tedstone. Get there early to make sure you don't miss Claire's set, as she will be opening the show!

We are delighted to be continuing our partnership and support of the fabulous Welcombe Radio based in Stratford-upon-Avon.  The covid-postponed Welcombe Radio Arts Cafe is re-scheduled to be open again after Easter, with Scriptstuff Poetry's own Mike Took performing alongside other musicians, singers and storytellers to make it a Saturday night to remember.  The events are broadcast live on the radio and you can buy tickets to be part of the live audience, and in doing so help support the volunteers who make Welcombe Radio such a great part of the Warwickshire arts community.

There's still time for students to enter the Temperance Student Spring Slam, hosted by Scriptstuff Poetry.  The inaugural Student Slam in December was a fantastic sold-out event and this one is sure to be another exciting night of poetry, fun and friendly but frantic competition!  If you are a fan of Poetry Slams grab yourself an audience ticket now before they sell out, and if you want to compete then entry is open to students from anywhere.  Anyone who has been to a Scriptstuff Poetry Slam before knows how exciting they are, and there's a £100 cash prize up for grabs!

It is on Tuesday March 15th from 7pm prompt, come on down and enjoy the sizzling atmosphere and great poetry - and you could even be an audience judge!
