Winterfest Fundraiser January 19th Saturday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Rummage Sale, Big Breakfast, Plant Sale and more! Our Big Breakfast will be offered from 8AM until 10AM. This all-you-can-eat breakfast consists of scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, pancakes with strawberry and whipped cream topping. Coffee and tea is also served – all for $7.00 per person. Come support the Civic Association with this great event! A volunteer signup sheet for this event is posted at the Civic Center. Your donations for the Rummage Sale of household items, small appliances, tools, furniture, jewelry, collectibles, plants, flowers, are most welcome! Art and Craft vendors may rent table space - contact Ellie at 973-650-9168. Proceeds from the Rummage Sale and Big Breakfast support the daily operations and activities offered at the Civic Center. We are a non profit organization - we rely on fundraisers and our volunteers to keep our doors open! 🤑50/50 Raffle - Extra Special - Month Long Ticket Sales We are holding a "Breakfast to Breakfast" Month-Long 50/50 Raffle! Come to the Big Breakfast on January 19th and purchase your ticket(s)! Come to the next Big Breakfast on February 16th and find out who wins! Tickets: $10 donation for one ticket OR $25 donation for three tickets! Raffle tickets will be on sale from January 19 to February 16, 2019. You do not need to be a member of the SJCCA and you do not need to be present on February 16th to claim your prize if you are the winner! |

GOLDEN BRUSHERS WELCOME 2019 AT SJCCA! Don't be shy! Come explore your artistic muse with SJCCA's painting group on Tuesday mornings at 10 A.M. in th colorful building on 4th and Lemon in St. James City. Order of the Golden Brush, founded over 45 years ago by Gladys Stroud, continues to provide a supportive atmosphere for individuals wishing to play with paints and pencils. Golden Brush is happy to sponsor 3 workshops in January on Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 4 P.M. Check it out.... January 15... Guest artist, Nancy Lenz Barr, leads participants in decorating a magnetic board using alcohol ink. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring extra embellishments such as sparkles, pictures, ribbons, shells, beads, buttons and bows! Cost is $45. Euchre - Our Euchre group is growing! Former players are returning for the season and New players that signed up at Open House, learned about us from our Newsletters or the Pine Island Eagle. Couples, singles, beginners, old pros - everyone is welcome. Don't know how to play? We'll gladly teach you! Come join us on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30PM. Next meeting is January 14th and the discussion will center on Educated, by Tara Westover. The Last Days of Night, by Graham Moore, will be discussed at the February 11 meeting. You may join/ renew your membership at our meeting. Why join? In a nutshell, without members there would be no St James City Civic Association. Without the SJCCA, there would be no book club! Please bring a check, $25/ person for the 2019 year, Jan-Dec., and cash, $2/ member, $4/ member's guest, for each event. In order to continue the newly instituted "2 month out" book choice, we need someone to offer 3 titles at our January meeting for the March discussion. Will you offer titles? A list of contact information is located on a new page that is private and can only be viewed by registered members of the SJCCA - click on the "Help" button below the "Members Only" tab for instructions. We will continue to post contact information on the bulletin board at the Civic Center if you do not wish to register as a member on the website. Inactive members and the public can complete the "Contact Us" section on our website and their inquiry will be forwarded to the appropriate contact person. **A Members Only page was created to provide our members with information such as financial reports and minutes to board/association meetings. To access the Members Only page you must first "Sign Up" to be approved as a valid Member of the SJCCA. Once approved, you need to "Log In" each time you enter the Members Only page.
