Portugal, Gibraltar and Iceland appear to offer the best short-term options from the current green list, with no compulsory quarantine on return, though travellers will still need to adhere to some testing and documentation and be prepared that things may not run totally smoothly.
Spain is welcoming back UK visitors, but we aren’t actually allowed to go there yet – which pretty much sums up the state of confusion!
Many people are still understandably preferring to look a little further ahead to the back end of 2021, 2022 and even 2023, with the security of flexible booking conditions plus low and refundable deposits.
Scarcity of product continues to throw a spanner in the works with little availability on flights remaining for the October half term holidays, and Christmas and New Year departures swiftly filling up.
I can’t emphasise strongly enough how important it will be for you to secure plans at least 12 months in advance in the coming few years. I don’t do hard sell, but I do believe in straight talking and there is no such thing as a last-minute bargain, only last-minute lack of availability.
