Welcome to another New Year. We want to thank all of you for your support during our third year and look forward to seeing you all in 2019. In 2019, we will offer many new classes as well as our familiar and popular classes in sewing, crochet, and knitting. |

Kids' Club is now called Family Sewing Club. This club will take place every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. All family members are welcome. Bring your mom, sister, brother, cousin etc and join in the fun of sewing, crochet, knitting, etc. |

Learn to Crochet January 5th 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. January 12th 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Teacher: Jane Now is your chance to learn to crochet. Join us at the shop to learn the basics of crochet, and more on the first two Saturdays of January! |

Make a Bag with Josefina Offered four Thursdays in January - 10th, 17th ,24th & 31st from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Want a simple way of building up your machine-sewing skills? Join us for this class! We will provide the materials, and you will leave with a brand new tote bag! And don't forget to bring your new tote bag in on a Scrappy Saturday! You can fill it with scraps and yarn ends for just $5, and who knows? You might make another bag from the scraps! |

NEW CLASS! Wet Felting January 19th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Teacher: Dorothy Learn how to make a bowl using wool roving and water! Many items can be made using this cold wet felting technique. In this class you'll learn the basics to wet felting, make a small bowl, and talk about the differences between cold and hot felting. |

Serger 101/102 January 22nd - two classes: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Teacher: Georgia Sergers can be a little intimidating but they are great sewing tools once you understand how to use and adjust them to suit your project! In the 101 class, learn the basics of threading and tension. For Serger 201, you've learned the basics but want to go further! Bring your serger or sit down at the shop sergers. If you bring your own, don't forget your serger's manual and all its feet, too! |

Hand Spinning on a Wheel January 26th from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Teacher: Marcia Learn to make your own, unique hand-spun yarn on a spinning wheel! We’ll play with several types of prepared wool and discuss wheel maintenance, drafting, treadling, plying, and finishing techniques to make a balanced yarn. No previous experience needed. If you have a wheel to bring to class, that's great, if not, you can borrow one of ours! |

Working with Commercial Patterns January 29th 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. January 29th 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Teacher: Georgia You've bought a sewing pattern, and opened the package. What's with all the tissue paper inside? We can teach you what to do with your pattern materials, and how to adjust it to fit you just right. Students may benefit from taking our Measure Up! class first. |

February Classes and Events! |

Sew Green is trying something new for all those who can’t escape to someplace sunny -- February Break Retreat -- 5 days of afternoon retreat designed for teachers but open to all adults You may bring a project in sewing, knitting or crochet or try something new! This is limited to ages 22 & up. Come for as many days as work for your schedule. Open to all adults $10 a day. Free for teachers. Stay tuned for more details. |

In February Sew Green will also begin a Quilting Block of the Month Class. Learn to use the tools to cut, measure and sew traditional quilt blocks in the modern way! The first class will be on February 2nd. More details to come! |

The "My Favorite Monster" camp was a big success. Many new monsters have entered our world during the school break. Shown here are most of the campers, 2 adult campers escaped the photo! We also want to send a big thank you to Ashley Zhong who was our Camp Director for Monster Camp! |

Camp participants first created a sketch of their favorite monster, then created a pattern, selected fabrics from the shop and learned to hand sew and machine sew to create their very own 3D monster! |

This sweet little baby is happily sleeping on a hand crocheted blanket made by Mads. Mads purchased all of the yarn from the Sew Green Shop! |

Deb made an infinity scarf for her mom. This fabric was also purchased at the shop. It's silky smooth. The scarf has a secret zipper pocket to hold treasures. Deb's mom uses it to hold her cell phone! |

Remember... Every Saturday is Scrappy Saturday! Our small scrappy bags stuffed with scraps and rolls of fabric and/or unmarked balls of yarn are only $1 all day (regularly $3 on weekdays). Bring your own grocery-sized tote and stuff it full for only $5 (regularly $10). Stop by and fill a bag with scrappy treasures this Saturday, and every Saturday! |
