Click It or Ticket, WP Police Enforcement Wave May 22 - June 4, 2023

Summary: During the enforcement wave from 22 May to 04 June, 2023, Willow Park Police will use extra resources to enforce TXDOT's Click-it or Ticket program supporting seat belt laws. Willow Park Police will focus their extra effort in two enforcement zones. Heads up parents and grandparents!

Parker County in History: 19 May 1836

Summary: Parker County was named for founder Isaac Parker, whose niece was Cynthia Ann Parker, perhaps the most famous Indian captive in Texas history. On 19 May 1836, Comanche warriors... attacked Fort Parker, located.. in what is now Limestone County. During the raid the Comanches seized five captives, including Cynthia Ann Parker.

Six new parks coming to Texas, one just an hour west.

Summary: On 02 May 2023, The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) announced a total of six new parks are scheduled to open over the next 12 to 15 years. Of the six, The Palo Pinto Mountains State Park will be just one hour west of Willow Park in Strawn, Palo Pinto County, TX.

Wastewater Project: Effluent Line

Summary: To diminish the effects of effluent water in the Clear Fork Trinity River, which runs through the back yards of our southern neighbors, Willow Park is building a pipeline from the new Willow Park Wastewater Treatment Plant to the retention pond at the Squaw Creek Golf Course.

Cross Timbers Regional Utility Authority, update on concerns

Summary: The proposed Cross Timbers Regional Utility Authority, which includes Parker County, will have "limited power of eminent domain; providing authority to issue bonds; providing authority to impose assessments and fees." This expansion of powers generated concerns from cities, like Willow Park, who are already addressing the public utilities needs of their citizens.

Street Improvement Projects, Ranch House Road (Vista and Crown)

Summary: "Crews will be replacing concrete on the Ranch House Road bridge May 15-22 just north of Fox Hunt Trail. The road will be shut down to one lane during the work and temporary signal lights will be in place at the bridge. Please drive slowly in the area, observe the signals, and watch for workers!"

SeeClickFix, new digital portal to WP Public Utilities

Need to report a pothole or public drainage problem? Trouble with a street sign or fire hydrant? Report to Willow Park's Public Utility Department via the SeeClickFix app or website. SeeClickFix is a new digital reporting tool for Willow Park citizens with city public utility infrastructure needs.
