Weekend ReviewSept 2 - Sept 5 - My first game back in almost two years (643 days?!)! I'm not gonna lie, I was nervous at first. I definitely had to get my feet in the dirt and get acclimated. Once I got out there, saw the fans, and started playing the game I love, all the long hours I've spent making sure I came back from opting out bigger, faster, and stronger felt so worth it. I said it in the post-game press conference but I need to say it again: the love we got from the fans Thursday night even after almost 3 hours of delay was awesome. I really felt like you guys had our backs out there. Thank you, really. I can't wait to keep playing for Knight Nation.
- Not only my first game back, Thursday was everyone's first game with the new coaching staff. We may have gotten off to a slow start but our coaches kept our attitudes right. We were never focused on the score, just on making the next play. Keeping us focused helped make sure everyone was in the game mentally. That paid off big in the end. I'm really proud of how this team adjusted to completely new schemes and staff to pull off a first game win.
- Boise State was a tough opponent. They were hitting us hard - I woke up with bruises I didn't even notice during the game! My favorite play was definitely seeing Alec Holler's hard work pay off by getting his first career TD. He and I also play video games together (sometimes live on Twitch!). It's always cool to see your friends succeed. As a side point, I keep reading articles that list me as 310 lbs?! I'm 301- not that big!!
- There were a couple of other good games I watched this weekend:
- Oklahoma - Tulane: Shout out Tulane. They really fought back, hit hard, and looked sharp. They definitely opened up a lot of eyes and I am looking forward to that game.
- FSU - Notre Dame: It felt like all of Knight Nation was on Twitter last night cheering on KZ. Man, that was awesome. I couldn't be happier for my boy. It seriously looked like he wasn't missing a step. He was fast, accurate, and always found a way to make a play - the same KZ that led us to two NY6 bowls. He is a hell of a football player, an awesome teammate, and an even better man.

NFL Power Rankings It's no secret I'm a huge Tampa Bay fan so, of course, I'm highlighting a list where they're number 1. Why not? The roster hasn't changed much, this team found its rhythm towards the end of the season, and they dominated in the post-season. As for the other teams, I'm 100% in on the Bills. Y'all know I'm biased since they feature former UCF Knight, Gabe Davis. I think Josh Allen and his receivers will cause headaches for defenses in the AFC East. One team I think this list might be sleeping on is the Steelers. There are questions but I have more faith in Ben and his O-Line than others seem to. Last year, he was coming off an elbow injury and asked to throw the ball 30-40 times a game. With Najee and a new OC coming in, I expect we will see that gritty, run-first Pittsburgh football. Plus... that defense led by TJ Watt speaks for itself. It'll be interesting to see them vs the Bills week one. |

NVIDIA Taking Over Graphics cards (GPUs) are a huge part of what makes PC games run smoothly and high-end GPUs can give competitive gamers an edge over their competition. When people talk about GPUs, you usually end up hearing two company names - NVIDIA and AMD. This past year, NVIDIA has continued to widen the gap between themselves and the competitors. I actually like NVIDIA for two reasons. First, I recently replaced my old GPU with a 3060 Ti and it has been a huge upgrade. Also, I started learning about the stock market this past year and NVIDIA was my first major investment! Of course, I'm rooting for them to do well but don't take my word as financial advice... I'm still very new. GPUs are also important for things like cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence. I recently saw that NVIDIA is diving deeper in to the self-driving car business so maybe there will be interesting things to watch out for! |

Up Next: Bethune-Cookman Boise is behind us and it is time to shift our focus to the next opponent. It's common in college football that teams are caught off guard by how good FCS teams are. Just this past weekend, there were 6 FCS teams that pulled off upsets and Bethune-Cookman nearly pulled off one as well. We have to go into this game focused and better than last game. Like Coach TWill said in the press conference today, our tackling has to be better. We're practicing that this week and expecting a hard fight. As long as we use this week to get better in all 3 phases of the game, we will put ourselves in a good position to come out with the W. As always, can't wait to see you guys in the Bounce House at 6:30 this Saturday! |
