Trevor faced an unexpected challenge after getting a good start with only a half of a lap into the race. He would have to fight from the back after having to pull off the track. With time lost and solid charging after getting back out there he worked his way back up to finish in the top 6.
In his words:
"I got off to a decent jump, and snuck in the inside for a good start of the race. Was 5th, made my way up to 3rd in the opening stage of the race and was fighting with the front 2 guys. Unfortunately, half a lap in small rocks stuck into the foot peg, and underneath the shifter to where I couldn’t put my foot on the peg, and was stuck in 2nd gear. I tried to get it unbound whilst riding but was losing positions so I had to pull over before the pro section to get the rocks out so I had my foot peg. I remounted in about 13-14 overall and had a lot of work to do with what felt like not a lot of time. I ran down as many riders in front of me as possible, and felt really strong. It was a very hard fought p-6. My strength is coming back and I feel like I had the bike set up great. Thank you everybody."
