What’s Happening

Join NAMIWalks for 1 in 4 Piedmont Tri-County at Cherry Park, Saturday October 9 at 8:00am - Rock Hill, SC.

 

Visit PMT's Table to explore instruments and share in conversation or song.

In celebration of Down Syndrome Acceptance & Awareness Month, attend Gigi's Playhouse Charlotte's Fall Fest on Saturday October 9th from 1:00 - 4:00pm!

 

PMT will be on site at 1pm to share music with provided instruments and conversation.

Another community event approaching is NAMIWalks Your Way Charlotte - United Day of Hope on Saturday, October 9th at 8:30am. It will be located at Park Road Park Shelter 1 - Charlotte, NC.

 

PMT Staff will be on site with instruments to explore in celebration of the community and recognizing mental health care.

PMT is excited to participate in the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte Buddy Walk by staffing a tent filled with instruments for participants to explore, Saturday October 30th from 10am - 1pm!

Self Care Kit Project

Congrats to Gabby Jones, MT Intern who received funding from Charlotte Is Creative to support a local Self-Care Kit Project. To request up to 25 free kits, or contribute to the project focused upon preventative self-care practices, visit the Bear HUG Web Page or call 803-206-2044.

Mobile Work

PMT Staff travel through out greater Charlotte to provide on-site music therapy treatment, group programming and educational workshops.

PMT's 3rd Scarecrow

Visit the 7th Annual Fort Mill Scarecrow Crawl to admire the creative projects from local schools, organizations and business.

 

Here's a glimpse of the creation being installed at Post #86 that MT Interns Mary, Matrisha & Gabby assembled with pumpkin painting by Ashley Tisdale, MT-BC.

 

The real pumpkins read "I believe in... music therapy!" to the tune of Smash Mouth's "I'm A Believer" - SHREK Movie.

 

Voting for top favorites is open online through The Town of Fort Mill's FB Page October 8 - 29.

Culture Blocks: Virtual Bucket Drumming Programs are still open for local youth, ages 8 - 14, to register online and then receive a free bucket drum kit at a nearby Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Branch or Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation Center. These programs occuring on Wednesdays at 5pm are sponsored by Culture Blocks, a community partnership funded by Mecklenburg County. Here's PMT phone number to register or learn more: 803-206-2044.
