We had two excellent artists here in February to teach participants about mosaics and embroidery! There are three more Create & Learn events coming up this year with an awesome variety of artists. Sign up for weaving, carving, pottery, sculpting, trash art, phone photography, holiday crafting, and more! There's a wide variety of ways to create and learn, throughout the year.

Adopt-A-Box

Connect with Saban culture, art, and nature as you explore the island on foot by perusing the many Adopt-A-Box storyboards. Over 50 have been unveiled thus far and we have nearly 15 additional boxes that have been adopted and will be unveiled in the future! There are still boxes that are available for adoption if you have a Saba story you want to tell. All of the boxes are featured on our website and the unveilings are available on the Sea & Learn Foundation's YouTube channel.

Science SEAkers

SLF is carrying out environmental activities with the 6th grade students at Sacred Heart School on Saba, tied into their school curriculum, called “Science SEAkers”. Each month of the school year is dedicated to different focus areas within the Nature and Environmental Policy Plan (NEPP). Students have already conducted a coastal cleanup and created art from the discarded items, and grown microgreens. Most recently, students collected West Indian-Almond seeds that they are now growing to help the reforestation project!

We're Growing!

Did you know?! The Sea & Learn Foundation has an office in Windwardside now. We're still settling in at Lambee's Place, but this space is already making a huge difference in our ability to carry out programs, interact with the community and visitors, and boost the profile of our projects while we are hard at work. Come say hi! It's a great chance to meet Beth (and Murphy), who joined the team last autumn, and to chat with Andrea, who is now working in the adjacent Saba Lace Room, sharing knowledge about the traditional craft with visitors.
