Welcome to your Alpha Gymnastics Community Newsletter!

We hope this mailing system allows us to provide better content and easier access to our information.  You should also notice the "Featured Business" at the bottom of this email.  We have been very grateful for the role you have all played in sharing our business with your friends so would like to extend the same opportunity to our members to share their businesses with our community.

Please let us know if you have any feedback on our new format or if you would like to have your business featured on future newsletters.

Since we opened in 2015, our number one goal has been to inspire people to move!  Movement is something to be enjoyed, regardless of your natural ability or prior experience.  Finding the optimum level of challenge for participants is one of the most critical aspects of our program.  Too little challenge and participants may become bored while too much challenge can create feelings of anxiety or hopelessness.

Each of our programs are easily modified to suit a range of skill levels. We encourage members to challenge themselves and strive for improvement through consistent attention and effort.  We aim to teach participants at their optimum level for each activity but there is always a "next step" or "another way" and we want members to explore different ways of moving without limitations of a closed pathway to develop a broader understanding of movement and creativity that will benefit them no matter where their life takes them. Skill development is just one of the areas we consider when placing participants in a class.  Other elements such as social groups, emotional maturity and personal goals will also influence which program will best cater for a participant to ensure we meet there "optimum level" to maximise engagement.

With these factors in mind, we have deliberately avoided displaying skill charts with the intention of leaving the learning journey open.  Instead we aim to have discussions with each family about their child's progress and future goals.

Having said that, we are always refining our program and welcome feedback from our community on how we can better meet the needs of our members.  Please speak with our coaches if you have any questions about our program or contact us at info@alphagym.com.au.

In the blink of an eye KinderGym have turned 40! We will be celebrating this milestone by having a super fun birthday on Fri𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 6. There will be fun games, decorations, and activities for your little one to enjoy. There will also be a very special free gift for all the kiddies!

Ascot Park Primary School have planned some upgrades to the gymnastics venue.  This will include a new heating/cooling system and an extension to the hall.  While this is exciting we will not be able ot use the venue during construction.  The planned start date for construction is Monday 14 December.  This date is not confirmed as it will be affected by the completion of other work throughout the school.  Therefore, our last day of after-school classes for 2020 may change closer to the date.

Proposed end of year dates:

  • KinderGym - Friday 11 December
  • GymFun, GymSkills, AdultGym - Saturday 19 December (to be confirmed)
  • Performance Teams - Saturday 19 December (to be confirmed)

With current restrictions on social gatherings we have decided to not offer an end of year party this year for the whole club.  This has been well attended in the past and a day I have personally enjoyed each year.  Unfortunately, the requirements of these events, particularly with consumption of food, as well as the consequences for breaching requirements has resulted in us deeming the risk outweighs the benefit of such an activity.
