REMINDER! March 8th is WoW's Annual Fashion Show & Cultural Gala and International Women’s Day! We are excited to celebrate the amazing women involved with WoW and the diversity of cultures found here in Utah. We will serve hors d’oeuvres and beverages from our talented restaurant sponsors, host a live auction and hear from Gail Miller our keynote speaker. You will see amazing cultural dress during the International Fashion Show and get to meet clients, staff, and friends of Women of the World. Supporting the Fashion Show builds the bridge of unity and support between us and our forcibly displaced neighbors. The event gives our friends and clients a chance to share their cultural dress as well as stories of their journey toward self-reliance here in their new home in Utah. This is a sold-out event, so if you didn't get a ticket we encourage you to follow along on our socials! Facebook Instagram |

Happy Black History month! Women of the World joins in paying tribute to the generations of Black Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society. We also acknowledge and celebrate the contributions made by Black heroes throughout history. In recent years, February has also become a time to strengthen the allegiance and support of marginalized communities-- a mission WoW strives for all year long! In 2021, President Biden made his first proclamation in support of Black History Month, announcing: “We do so because the soul of our Nation will be troubled as long as systemic racism is allowed to persist. It is corrosive. It is destructive. It is costly. We are not just morally deprived because of systemic racism, we are also less prosperous, less successful, and less secure as a Nation.” WoW is determined to advocate in support of this statement and encourages the citizens of Utah to welcome and support diversity. |

Douglass collapsed after attending a meeting with suffragists, including his friend Susan B. Anthony. A lifelong supporter of women's rights, Douglass was among the 32 men who signed the Declaration of Sentiments at Seneca Falls, N.Y. |

In honor of Black History Month, WoW staff members attended a Forum on Diversity in the workplace at the University of Utah. Leaders from marginalized communities are essential in tech, education, and every industry beyond. Their perspectives and contributions are necessary to create classrooms, technologies, and communities that consider, empower, and unlock the potential of all humans. We were honored to attend this forum and grateful for the important messages shared. |
