This month we will focus on Nursery Rhymes. Did you know that Nursery Rhymes are an important part of preschool development? Some of the benefits include;
Repetition of rhymes and stories is good for the brain, teaching how language works and building memory capabilities.
Nursery rhymes are important for language acquisition and help with speech development.
They are a great introduction to stories since many contain a beginning, middle, and end (sequencing).
Nursery rhymes increase vocabulary (like the word “fetch” in Jack & Jill).
Nursery rhymes expand children’s imagination.
Nursery rhymes teach history and connect a child to the past.
Nursery rhymes are full of patterns, sequencing, numbers, and counting (forward and backward).
Children can learn social skills from many of the rhymes.
If your child qualifies for VPK for the 23/24 school year and you would like them to attend Triumphant Tots, you will first need to apply through the Early Learning Coalition. Remaining spots will open to the public March 1st.
VPK is only for children who are 4 years old prior for September 1st each year. VPK has their own calendar and schedule that may or may not coincide with the rest of the school. When you see "NO VPK" or "VPK ONLY", that means it only pertains to VPK and not the rest of the classrooms. If you are unsure, please ask Ms. Sara and she can clarify for you.
