Final weigh-ins for the summer's wellness challenge is underway! The Wellness Program is wrapping up its Let's Hydrate Hidalgo! Wellness Challenge this week. Once we have completed all the weigh-ins, winners for the men and women categories will be announced.
We want to thank everyone who participated in this 8-week challenge! The program appreciates all of you and hope you keep up the good work you have put into your health.

Last month, the Employee Wellness Program hosted a Health Talk at the Health Department with DHR Health.
Angela Varela-Espinosa, the clinical research coordinator, discussed breast cancer screenings and highlighted facts. Attendees enjoyed a lunch and offered overall positive feedback about the presentation.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Employees
Friday, September 9 at 10 A.M.
Successful employees share many common traits such as integrity, a positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic. This session is an overview of these and other characteristics important to career success, and outlines several strategies for integrating these traits into out own lives.
Employees who grew up in different time periods can have different values, different priorities, and different communication skills. This session explores those differences and suggests strategies for effectively motivating employees from each generation.
Did you know county employees have access to free fitness classes?
The Precinct 2 Indoor Sports Complex holds five 1-hour sessions Monday through Friday. On Saturdays, classes are available to all employee family members ages 13 and up.
