Greetings and Salutations one and all!

We are in the month of new ideas and the awaiting for more light to to be brought to the world and to our minds and the winter season taking full effect. Celebrated around the fires to stay warm and remember the light is still found even in the darkest of times.

Which this become the focus of fireworks and sparklers that are deeply magical tools to cast intention and ideas and energy all around us for further plans.  

The moment of the dropping of the ball and jumping for joy to the start of a new year in good company. Awakening the winds of change within us. Even if it is Just a spark to move us forward of having purpose. 

In what ways do you share your magick to make change in our world? This I share as my letter because I find great wizardly thinking of making new moves toward building a better world that we live in. Let January be your month of motion.

The Coterie of the Flowing Waters
 

Greetings all and
Happy New Year to you all!
To those of you that celebrate it, I hope you had a Merry Christmas too! I find that I like to reflect over the past year, on the good and the not so good. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that even in the worst of times, if nothing else, there is a lesson to be learned.
 

The fight for points rages on and you are all doing me proud as your Prefect! During the role of Prefect, there are times when it becomes challenging and it is easy to lose track of the positives, but watching you all represent our lodge so finely has made me proud of each and every one of you! We will continue to fight on, we can all hold our

head high, knowing we’ve fought hard for every point.
 

For those of you who have been busy over the festive season, Provost Kingsley has released a list of physical classes, so be sure to procure and examine the list - it certainly looks great! I’m sure you’ll all join me in thanking the leadership team for their constant hard work in helping our school to expand.
 

I would also like to use this opportunity to say a warm welcome to those joining us for the first time, both faculty and pupils - welcome to the Grey School family, it is a pleasure to have you with us.

Greetings my fellow Flames!

Welcome to the month of December! We are almost half way through the term! I know some of While 2021 had its ups and downs, that is over and 2022 is upon us.  We have the ability to make 2022 what we wish, if we get our minds to it!  We are also half way done with our term, but we still have the other half to go.  Can you bring the fire?  Can we burn ever brighter now?  Here is a great chance to get started!

Term Progress Update:
Over the first part of the term, we have only seen a few members active on the forums, participating in challenges or posting their completed course work!  If you haven’t, please come join us on the forums, check out our virtual moots, drop a line on Discord to fellow apprentices and magisters.  If we still want to try for the Lumos Award, which isn’t easy, we will have to bring our “A-game”.  There was a thread with a survey about how things are done or presented in the Lodge back in Nov. I got one response for that thread.  However, the lodge really needs your help! Please keep an eye out for something similar again in the forums.  We really do want your feedback on ways things could improve, both in the lodges separately, and overall, as we are consistently trying to improve your experience at the school!  No feedback means we do not know what to address!

Our lodge experiment is still going!  Pop in for the next month on how your progress is going.  The main thread contains links to each new months discussion section, as well as the explanation of the project.  It doesn’t matter if you didn’t start last month, start this month!

Greetings Apprentices and Magisters of the Spire!

Prefect Macanrothaic here for the monthly low-down and giddy-up! I want to thank everyone for their hard work in December 2021!

When you read this 2021 will be but a dream and we will be in 2022. A whole new chapter to refocus our energies, our wants, our desires, our ambitions, our hearts, our minds,our actions. A whole new year for us to reignite passions that may have dwindled out in the last days of 2021.

 It has been my pleasure to be studying here at The Grey School with all of you fellow Windsy-types! We are still holding first place for the Lodge cup for this term! Although this could change at any moment so keep up the great work in your studies and participation in those merit challenges! I have heard it whispered that the Winds Lodge being in the lead for the Lodge cup is surely an anomaly, though I know all the credit goes to you, the members of this Lodge, for all of your hard work and participation! So, let’s applaud those who were awarded merits in December:

We do have our Lodge Celebration coming up which we have been planning. We are planning for either February 12th or 19th. We can discuss more of this celebration at our next Lodge meeting that Apprentice Draven is planning for us on January 22nd (more details to come). At which, we can share stories, ask for help on school and class projects, and just get to know each other a little better.

The Circle of the Standing Stones  

Happy New Year, Stones!

Now that we’re welcoming in a new year, maybe it’s time we entertain a new mindset to go with it. 2022 brings several new energies to work with, but there’s one that I think will define our overarching theme for the year: Jupiter in Pisces. See, Jupiter loves Pisces. It is the ruling entity of this dreamy sign in traditional astrology, and feels happily at home surrounded by Pisces’ compassionate disposition. Together the two help us open some very beneficial doors, both for our own individual interests as well as those of humanity as a whole. This partnership is generous and accommodating, giving us new opportunities to begin shifting toward a happier and more balanced existence. 

Happy birthday to Apprentices Airin, Alec, Merqatyl Draconis, Mason Cunninghare, Prehenderevalexrunse, Dreaming Dragon, Autumn Lily, Greyhawke, Gawyn Greybeard, Gemini Silva, Illuminatus, Plantchant, Winterheart, Waterdancer, Dean Ravensong and yours truly!

A message from your Vice-Captain
 

Happy New Year my fellow Apprentices!
It is January of 2022!

I have great plans for this coming year. Instead of New Year Resolutions I make New Year Plans! What are my plans for the new year? I’m so glad you asked.

I plan to turn in a minimum on one essay in one class every week; to cook with more fresh vegetables than frozen and more frozen than canned for at least 3 meals a week; to continue gentle exercise that is appropriate for my physical health; to improve my cake frosting and decorating skills; to spend at least one hour a week doing something fun that is just for my enjoyment; to attend the in-person classes in New York in May of 2022!

Speaking of which, You can find more information about these classes in the Handbook on the Grey School website. What plans do you have for the upcoming year? I have found that I do better framing my thoughts and desired changes in a positive way. So instead of stating what I’m NOT going to do I state what I AM going to do. The difference is about synchronicity. We learn about this in several of the Departments here at Grey School.

Synchronicity isn’t only about magickal workings it is also about living our day to day lives. Want more nice people in your life? BE a nice person. Want more smiles in your day? SMILE more! If you have a rough day and just can’t even begin to try don’t beat yourself up about it. I just sigh, releasing body tension on the exhale and decide I will try again tomorrow after all,
